We have it down to two models: Trail Cruiser with three fold out beds or the Jayco with one fold out bed with 4 bunk beds. Does anyone have one of these models and pros/cons of it. What do u pull it with? We'll need to upgrade our van to another vehicle.
Thanks everyone!

I don't know which models of each you are looking at so can't help with the tow vehicle but after having shopped for our first TT last year and growing up always with a TT or motorhome I would pick the Jayco over the Trailcruiser. Bunks are much easier than fold outs, you don't have to make them back into sofa/dinette in the AM then back to beds at night. The Jayco had slightly more interior height(DH is 6'4"). The last reason, and I can't verify this but my dad(has owned at least 4 TT and 1 camper)thought that the quality of construction on the Jayco was better. I almost bought the jayflight 29y but found a better deal on a brand I had never heard of before called a SMOKEY it is built by a company called SUNRAY that builds modular homes and applied the same standards to their TT, plus it has a residential queen size bed(60x80) not a RV queen(60x74) with hubby's height that was a huge selling point.

I have to vote with HappyDznyCamper for the Jayco. I also think they are a better built trailer. The Trail Cruiser my be lighter but I think the Jayco is a better trailer. We enjoy going to RV shows to look at the different trailers and have seen the quaility of both.

I also agree it is nicer not to have to fold up or down beds.

Please check and make sure you van is rated to pull it before you buy it. For the safety of your family and others on the road.

We went as far as buying a Hensley hitch. They make our towing even safer. Here is thier web site: www.nosway.com

Good Luck!

We recently bought the Jayco 26L- It has the one fold-out bed in front and the 4 bunks in back. the sofa/kitch slide out. Not sure if that is the one you are talking about, but we are a fam of 5 with a dog and it is a good size for us. The kids all have their own bed and the slide gives more walking room. There is a ton of storage in this model- inside and out with a huge pantry in kitch area.
We tow with a Yukon xl.

Yes, that is the Jayco one we looked at. It's very nice. We are a family of 4, but will probably bring friends for each of the kids. Our van won't pull it so we need to look at getting another car. How's the pull-out bed? Comfortable?

We had a Jayco pop up my dad had 2 different Jayco 5th wheels. I think the quality of a Jayco is really good.

IF you are talking about a trail cruiser made by R-Vision, i have to say we have one of their trailers and i love it. It is very well made and other than a few problems, we have been very happy with it. However, i have never owned a Jayco and I will say that my dh (who hates folding out the beds) is looking at one of those and it is likely that we will buy one in the near future. I believe the trail cruisers are more expensive. At least they were when we were looking and we got lucky and found a leftover and got a great price. Given the choice, I would rather not have to go through the trouble of making beds, etc.

I think these are both good trailers, so the choice will be up to you - what you feel is most important, and also how good the deal is. There is usually one floor plan you would prefer over the other - where the kitchen is and how it is set up, where the bathroom is and it's set up, location of beds, etc. For us, we were sold on the Jayco because of the bunk bed option, so it sleeps 4 closed up, the center kitchen, the quality of the cabinets (hardwood doors and facings, not plastic laminated particle board), the construction of the trailer, and the deal (last year's model). As far as a tow vehicle, like I told you in the other thread, we pull our 21c with a Ford F150. I would venture to say that for a 26 ft trailer, this would probably be the minimum size tow vehicle you would be comfortable towing with. When you estimate your towing weight, be sure to include your additional passengers, all the "necessities" you are bringing along, weight of filled tanks and propane, etc. The weight will add up fast, so don't cut it too close with the towing capacity of your vehicle.

the pull out bed is where my dh and I sleep. It is the type that pulls down, has a cable system(no poles) on the outside. the foam cushion for mattress is comfortable, but we did buy one of those 2 inch memory toppers b/c there are 2 cushions and where they meet is a gap.(of course that's on my side  )
Any more Questions, just ask.....

sorry hijacking this thread!! We just purchased a TT with the bunk beds (the bottom ones fold up) and a "pop-up" queen on the other side..It's raining and now the pop up part is leaking..is this normal or should I call the dealer in the morn.

Thanks!!!

Marissa: Your brand new trailer should not be leaking! Call the dealer!

Good Luck!

With all this rain it feels we are at the bottom of a lake!!

I called today and they sent someone out to seal the seams but he said he will have to come back afer it stops raining to do it again. We just had it delivered yesterday and I am not having fun!! First the Hot water tank was leaking, then we checked on it last night and the canvas was leaking so I moved the mattress away from it. They came back to today to fix the canvas and hot water and the guy was running the hot water to check it out and I asked him if he wanted me to drain the bathtub and he said he didn't fill it! So now someone else is coming out tomorrow to see why the tub filled and not the grey tank.

We bought this off a lot..so they're fixing everything but still I just want it to be simple..set up/move in..IT's a 2005 Trail Blazier (I think) only because we liked the layout better than the new 2006 model.

Oh well...thanks for your help!! hopefully tommorrow is easier!!
