I'll be staying at the Bay Towers on July 4th, but I was planning on not being near the parks that day. I'll be in Tampa to watch a MLB game.
If I stay the whole game, I'll likely leave at 7pm. Without traffic/accidents it should take me 1hr 15min (a MapQuest ETA).
So what is the traffic like on July 4th leaving Tampa and getting into the main parking area at MK? All I need to do is get back to my hotel to see the fireworks. Is everyone and their uncle from Florida going to be there jamming up World Drive, and backing up the Main Entrance so I can't get to the Contemporary by 8:30?
I know I can't account for an accident (which is a variable), but has anyone every driven into the parks on 7/4 over the years? I'm trying to figure out my risks.
