We are headed home tomorrow and need some traffic advice. We are heading North to the San Francisco Bay Area tomorrow. We still have 1 more day on our Park Hoppers and were planning on heading home around 2pm or so. Will we be ok or do we need to leave earlier? Thanks!!!

Depending on where in the Bay Area you're going, it will usually take 5-7 hours. You'll hit the beginning of LA rush hour traffic, which will slow you down quite a bit.

I would try to leave by noon or wait until 6-7 pm. Can you leave later? That will give you more time in the parks, maybe time for a late lunch/early dinner, and then you'll have missed the heaviest part of rush hour. Otherwise, you will need to leave by around noon to really skip the Friday getaway traffic.

I live in the Bay Area and in my experience, 2 pm is one of the WORST times to leave. You'll hit a lot of traffic getting OUT of LA (particularly for the first hour or so), but if you're willing to do that, the rest of the drive should be fine, as you'll miss the traffic in the Bay Area.

Depending on where you are going in the Bay Area, leaving earlier might get you stuck in some traffic on the other end, but not necessarily. Just depends...

I'm with the PP who said to try to leave around noonish or 1 pm at the latest. :thumbsup2

Thanks all. I think we'll shoot for moon. I'd rather leave later, but we are all Wiped out and don't want to arrive home at 2am!!!
