Traffic Getting To Universal?

We'll be going over to Universal one day next week from AKL. I'll have my mom's ECV in the trunk of our rental car. She has a Texas handicap tag that we'll be taking with us. Where is the handicapped parking at Universal?

I hate driving in any kind of traffic, so will be using the Option 2 route someone above mentioned. But how do I get from AKL to Buena Vista Drive? (I've never driven down there and am a little nervous.:rotfl:)

Aubriee you can pre-drive this in googlemaps. Go in and explore in a birds eye view and then pull the little walking guy down and you can look around at person's level. I find that is really helpful in getting landmarks and familiarizing yourself with a route.

There look to be all sorts of option to get where you are going. Looks like you can get onto BVD right before the McDonalds as well.

Handicap parking at Universal is in the same garages as regular parking. Generally I've seen Handicap parking being located on the same level as Preferred parking, actually closer to the bridge to the central hub. (Basically, You are going to be on the same level as the walkways to Citywalk and close enough to avoid the moving sidewalks within the garage)

Thanks! Wow, love that Google option. Thanks!

Sounds great. I have an AP so won't need to pay for parking and will also have my mom's handicap tag. We'll also have her ECV.

I never hit traffic getting off from I-4 at the universal exit. Just stay away from International Drive leaving Universal if you can. (I think one of the garage exits leads you to I-drive if you want to go south of I-4) That small stretch of road between Universal Blvd. and Turkey Lake rd. turns into a traffic nightmare as the evening progresses.

You've been lucky...I've been stuck in several bad traffic jams due to an accident. Don't jinx yourself. ;)

:thumbsup2

Our last trip in July we never went on the I4 once. Always Turkey Lake Rd.

The amount of times we saw the I4 from TLR at a standstill was scary and so glad we never went on it.

It will always be our route of choice for that journey from Universal to LBV or further afield in that direction.
