Anybody driven to WDW from the northeast or Western NYS the day after Thanksgiving? Of course weather will be the first consideration on which way we go, but also wondering about how much traffic from all those shoppers seeking bargains will be on the road. We can either go through western PA, W. VA, Charlotte, Columbia and then 95. Or we can go route 15 through PA, catch 81, then make our way over to 95 around Fredricksburg, Va.

Either way is fine with us. Just want any experiences you might have had driving on this day. We are headed to Tampa to catch a cruise first, then a week at WDW after. Leaving thanksgiving day is not an option.

We have driven quite a bit on Black Friday and outside of the major metro area mall exits, the traffic is usually lighther than normal.

Thanksgiving Day morning has always been a traffic nightmare for us.

I once drove from NYC to WDW and left at like 7PM after Thanksgiving Dinner.

Not a stitch of traffic.

Did the drive down in one shot.

We drove down to Disney on the Friday after Thanksgiving 2009 from the Norfolk Va area. Hit the road about 7:30 that morning and drove as far as the KOA in Savannah Ga by 4:30 (towing 5th wheel and wanted to pull in and hook up before dark). Traffic not too bad.
