I've heard that you can trade in the unused portion of your tickets for higher-priced tickets or an annual pass and pay the difference. I'm trying to find the best deal for my family. We're pretty sure that we're going to end up doing DL again next year, so we're considering AP's. SO, here's the question--if I purchase a package that has the tickets included, can we upgrade to AP's when we get to DL? How does that work? Will we get the full price of the tickets credited, or would we lose the first day on our tickets and only get credit for the remaining days? Is there any way to upgrade before we get to DL?

Every ticket that is sold has a value attached to it. You simply pay the difference between the "value" of the ticket you got with the package and the cost of the AP.

Example I purchase a three day hopper from AAA for $119. Then I decide to upgrade to Deluxe AP ($165). I pay an additional $46 to upgrade to a Deluxe AP.

NOTE: The AP will have an experation date of the first day you used the ticket that you upgrade So your first visit to Disneyland is April 11, 2004. On you last day April 15 you upgrade to the AP, the experation date of the AP is April 11, 2005.

For our upcomiong trip we have 2 separate reservations (5 nights at DLH and 5 nights at GCH) that each come with 5 day park hoppers. We did this because the only way to get the Stay 3 nights, get 4th free deal was to purchase a package with tickets.

Has anyone ever been able to apply the value of 2 hoppers to an annual pass. If possible we would like to upgrade both sets of our passes.

Thanks.

I am pretty sure that you can only use one pass per upgrade.

Also note the value of the pass that you are upgrading to must be higher then the one you are using to upgrade.

Meaning that if you have a hopper valued at $119, you can use it to upgrade to a deluxe ($165) or premium AP($225) but not to a so-cal AP ($79).

Another thing with upgrading both sets- You can only upgrade current tickets so if you wait till the 2nd set is almost gone the first set will be long expired-

Plus the value of both tickets is greater than the PAP and they wont let ya do that-

I would just wait till the end of the 2nd set then upgrade-
