O.K. I need some advice from some of the traders out there. I'm thinking of trading out for the summer of 2005 to Hawaii for our 10th anniversary. DH and I went to Hawaii for our honeymoon, and we said we'd go back for our 10th, so it's now time to start thinking about it. Our kids will be 6 and 3, so I think they'd be fine with the flight. When should I contact DVC about setting this up. Can I call tomorrow morning?? I really want one of the Marriott properties, or Hanalei Bay in Princeville. Those would be the only ones I'd ask for. The Princeville property we actually stayed in for one night back in 1995, because we were bumped from the Princeville Hotel, because then Vice President Gore was there on his 25th anniversary trip and him and his security detail had taken up two floors of the hotel. If I place my request now, how does that work? Do they take the points out of my account, or do they do a search first and when a match is available, they call me? If I o.k. the dates, then the points are taken out of my account? Also, what do you think my chances of getting either of these three resorts? I'm not interested in the others, due to lack of airconditioning in some, and I don't think the Big Island would be very good. Any other advice would be appreciated!!

I'm pretty sure that you can choose to either do a search for the property and time you want with a confirmation before they use your points to secure it or you can deposit your points into Interval and let them sit until your ready to use them. They don't expire once moved into Interval but you cannot move them back into your regular DVC account. Good luck!
