is on now. 12:30 p.m. EDT. The infamouse show is back.

That has to be one of the worst shows. Hay on the walls?

The Hay Walls, compounded by the pink tray ceiling - what a disaster!

I just got TLC a few weeks ago. I love Trading Spaces. However sometimes the decorators give some nasty ideas.. I agree the straw on the wall is HORRID. I also feel bad for the people who suggest colors like reds and blues, then end up with parchment and chocolate brown.. poor people..
But the show sure gives me ideas.

Call me weird (it wouldn't be the first time) but I thought it looked kind of cool. I don't think I'd want it in my house and I don't think it was practical by any means but I liked it. Straw on the walls is definitely something you don't see every day. :)

It wasn't as bad as I thought. You have to admit, the bookcase stuff by the fireplace was cool.

On the other hand, the other family got a WONDERFUL kitchen. Come into my kitchen with that stuff any day!

I think I would have KILLED if someone had done that to my house - course I'm not ever going to let anyone decorate my home, so I guess we don't have to worry about that - That ceiling was the color of Pepto-Bismal - followed by straw on the wall... what WAS she thinking?

I was watching "Rosie" when this show first aired and she talked about redoing the room for the people because she was so appalled by the hay room.....

I remember that one! The kicker of that show was that the homeowner had a small child who would most likely be picking the straw off the walls and putting into his mouth. I would probably have cried like the infamous lady in her livingroom that Doug designed.:D

I agree about the kitchen of the other home. That was just beautiful.

I agree that the hay on the walls was the stupidest idea I ever saw.

What's next? "Cow pies" on the wall? ;)

I remember that show! I kept thinking to myself, "Straw....fireplace....just doesn't seem to go together!"

Yes the hay was bad, but did you see the one where they put MOSS on the bedroom walls?? The lady walked in the room with her eyes closed and the first thing she said was "ew what's that smell'? The neighbor who had to "do" this bedroom knew it was not going to go over well to say the least!

But I'm addicted to the show!

The hay walls... well that did it for me! I couldn't believe when the neighbor doing it expressed concern for the small children, and Hilde said that should be told not to touch it. Yeah right! Kids live in this house...hello!!!!

I LOVED that kitchen. I would want them to come do that to my new kitchen, whenver it is that I get a new kitchen.

The show preceeding the "hay" show was good too. Both of those rooms looked great, even if the bedroom wasn't red and burgandy (ugh) like the woman wanted. It was very warm and tasteful. I liked the sun ray theme over the bed and on the partitions (the very things that woman said had to go). I thought it was so funny that everything she hated her husband liked. But, I am sure we know who will win that battle!

The living room that Vern did was wonderful, but both he and Lauri abused poor Ty in that episode. I don't blame Ty for bailing on Vern, either. Ty didn't want to do a shoddy job, and that is respectible of him.

I caught the last of that episode, with the straw. Yuck! I'm in the middle of redoing my kitchen. The wallpaper border has grapes on it, so I decided on purple paint for the bottom of the walls. Wrong choice! But ya' know, after seeing straw on the walls, purple, I can live with. (For a while)LOL:Pinkbounc
