Trading Spaces - Hildi's at it again!!!!

Cardboard on the walls!! What will she come up with next? She just does things to other people's home that she would never, ever do to her own house! Of all the designers on this show, she is the worst. She has got to be stopped!

I saw previews for that episode....How did it look? How did the people react....I would have been VERY ticked off

It was just plain ugly. Applied with glue, they are going to run out of people willing to risk their houses. The better designers seem to be getting fewer shows and these type are getting more.

The only thing good in the room was the bed TY built. Maybe they can get some nice bedding hilight it. Redo the walls to a nice finish, since they will definately have to resurface the walls or texture.

My main thought is what a fire hazard that would be, can you imagine how fast it would burn. Hope no one in the household smokes.

Edited to add: The homeowners were very nice about it. Just too polite to say what they really thought it seemed.

The lady really didn't like it. When the other reveal was done she asked her neighbour if she had fought for her. She didn't look very happy.

Oh, it was awful! She even threw in some cardboard furniture. The pattern for her curtains and bedspread were ugly too. The only nice thing in that room was Ty's bed. It will be quite the project for those homeowners to get the cardboard off and have the room look decent again.

I would lock the door if I saw Hildi coming to my house to design a room. At least it was just the guest bedroom.

Last week feathers, this week cardboard, sounds like she is running out of good ideas. Do you think she is doing odd designs on purpose? She for sure is gaining a reputation and it isn't good.

Hideous Hildi at it again! A room done wall to wall in cardboard and what does she do for accessories? CANDLES!! Just like her nickname implies, the room was hideous...lol.

I think some of the most fun episodes on TS is where Hildi does something completly outrageous to the room. It's just hillarious seeing it all come together. However, you have to feel sorry for whoever's room she is doing. I think they should spin her off into her own show where she does over-the-top rooms for show houses or something. She's just a little too impractical and such for real houses. But still, you've got to love her.

I tend to turn the channel if I know she is one of the decorators. On the other hand, I like Frank.

Don't see much of other carpenters ... have they been replaced?

Don't love her at all. It is becuase of her that I would hate to apply for the show!! Her designs are just plain ugly

Ey-yi-yi-yi-YI! Hildi! What the heck are you doing!?!? Whoever mentioned something about the fire hazard is exactly right- and, oh my gosh, cardboard FURNITURE? These aren't 13 year olds who you're designing for Hildi!

The crazy thing is, I get the feeling Hildi is a fun person to be around....why does she insist on ruining people's homes? It's one thing to be wacky with paint or furniture but to glue cardboard to the walls is just wrong.

I've been watching the TS reruns on TLC every afternoon- they featured a few of Vern's rooms---now THERE are some gorgeous rooms. And Frank's room this evening was divine as well.

I just finished watching the show at 1 am (night worker with a day off)
It was the worst, and I always thought the fireplace wood cover was bad (the one where the lady cried)
I was thinking a tthe end of the show that if I ever got Frank to do my house I would be so happy but if I was the one to draw Hildi I would back out quickly.
and she laughs like it is the funniest thing. She won't listen to any suggestions.
It looked like even Paige was disgusted with the cardboard walls. Did you hear what she said to Frank when they were discussing his re-do? We all have heard of wainscotting on the walls but packing material?" Then he said "Your talking about the other makeover, right?" I think at that point she realized the camera was on and changed the subject but she let her feelings be known. Peggie

Hildi is why I would never apply to be featured on this show because with my luck she'd show up. I would apply for While You Were Out anytime though. They always do great work.

I am not a hockey fan, but wasn't that room last night on While you Were Out FANTASTIC!?!?!? I thought it was so awesome- his name is eluding me, but I think that designer is phenomenal. I miss Teresa Strausser- she was funny!

Can you tell TLC is my favorite? I watch that and Survivor and occasional Friends re-runs. That's about it! (Well, and I gotta have my As the World Turns, but that's a whole nother issue! )

I just about love all of the While You Were Out rooms and I agree that the hockey room was super. I miss Teresa too and where in the world was Andrew last night?

TLC is a favorite here and is on more than any channel besides Nick at Nite I think.

I know I would've been upset to walk into my Room O' Cardboard! Really, how can anyone think that is attractive or desireable at all?! Does Hildi enjoy the shock value, or does she really think she's doing something the homeowners would enjoy? Really liked Ty's bed, though. Really like Ty...

I'm sure she's encouraged to do these shocking rooms because those are the ones we seem to remember and talk about. I have to admit that I'll stay tuned til the very end when Hildi makes a mess out of a room just to see the homeowner's reactions. Of course, I still feel awful for the homeowners, but that's the chance you take on the show.
