Trading reservations?

Not sure how to ask this question but here it goes......i understand its hard to stay at some DVC resorts when only booking 7 months out so do members trade with other members that can book 11 months out? I understand its a trust issue.

There is really no way of knowing but I suspect there are very few trades. It isn't that easy to find someone who wants your resort and you want their resort at 11 months. I think it is more likely that members might rent out points, and then use the money to rent a reservation or transfer points in, to make a hard-to-get reservation at 11 months.

I doubt that would be a problem, if booking right at 7 months, during most of the year. The exception would be peak travel times for DVC.

You shouldn't have any problem.

Savanna view rooms are plentiful and often available at seven months. Or, your VGF points should rent at a premium, and you'd easily be able to find someone either to rent them from you (allowing you to rent AKV from someone else), or trade directly.

We like to go around *travel time removed* and want to try other resorts. Not sure how to rent or sell points. Very new at this. Lol

Renting points is fairly simple, you make a reservation for the other party using your points and they pay you for the reservation at whatever price and terms yo agree upon. Or you can use a broker like David's, www.dvcrequest.com

Ok. I prefer to use my points cause I don't want to complicate planning my vacation. This year 2 weeks at VGF and then next year I'm going to try and do a split with the resorts. Check out the ones I like most. That's why this 7 month window has me nervous.
