Trading pins and lanyards??

What are these trading pins and lanyards you supposedly get when you stay at the resorts?? What do you do with them?

There are thousands of different pins with different characters, theme parks, etc. that many people collect and trade. A lanyard is a long necklace kind of thing to which pins can be attached for display. If you're on a DreamMaker package, you get two free lanyards and two free pins (little, inexpensive ones) per room.

Yes, we have a Dream Maker package, because it is "at par" with the Canadian dollar and so it is far cheaper for us to do this than try to book things separately with the exchange rate.

I saw something about these pins and lanyards, two per room, and we have two rooms, so we get four.

How expensive or inexpensive are these pins to collect?? Where do you find them? At the resorts, at the parks, on the rides....???? Anymore info out there?

My boys became obsessed with the pins, so beware.

They are sold EVERYWHERE. However the fun thing is you can trade with the Cast Members who are wearing lanyards. One color of lanyard only kids can trade from. Can't remember what color. It is a fun thing to do. Suggestion--go to TDS and buy some inexpensive pins for trading. Then you can trade up when you get there.

getting a pin a day (from Mom and Dad) but we could NEVER get them to trade with anyone!!!!!

Pins cost between $6.50 US and $10.50 US at Walt Disney World.

Suggestion--go to TDS and buy some inexpensive pins for trading.

Unfortunately the Disney Stores in Toronto have been out of pins for a long time now. If you want to buy trading pins you are better off finding someone selling a bulk lot on eBay.

Maybe we will just forgo the trading pin thing. We aren't really collectors of any kind and it would probably just sit in a drawer. My girls would just want a stuffed animal or something, and the son could care less.
