We are heading to WDW on October 15. and are looking forward to trading some pins. our last trip we decided we were going to really look for Lanyard Pins (most of my traders are from early years of trading) we were lucky enough to relly get quite a few both there and on our crauise last October. So my question is this: Are there still Lanyard pins out there to ber found? I have printed the pages with them from a site online so I have seen the newer additions.

Where do you find people trading now? is it mostly out at the Marketplace near the pin store, I saw people out there on a quick trip for a day cvisiting DD at College in March. Do they still trade in World of Disney Store? Just lookinf for a few pointers since this is the first LONG trip to WDW since 2004 short trips like day trips just don't give you the time to really go searching.

And what about finding that GREAT pin? Like the BI"G Castle pins that were CM I believe I saw a couple of them looking at traders books. What do I need to get my hands on one of those. I am sorting pins for our trip and am considering taking some of my (or what I consider to be) really good pins just incase. I have 3 of the Country pins from the Millennium Village, the balloon with the country flag under them. I know you just never know what someone will be looking for in trade but there is NO WAY I can carry all of these things either on a planbe or in the parks.

If anyone has a thought (even if it is your dream pin) thhink a bit older pins and post away I will see if I have any of them and pack them along for the ride. Gimme our thoughts and maybe I willl run into you in the park between Oct 15-23......

We were there from the 3-11 of September (including the Pin Event). The CMs did not have a lot of lanyard pins, and hardly anything "new". DD did find a few LEs on lanyards, but the trading was a little thin. Of course, it was all in anticipation of the major league trading at the event.

We traded one night at Pin Traders in DTD. Also there is trading Thursday night at the All Star Sports and Friday night at the Contemporary. Dizpins has a web link with the trading times and locations.

It will be interesting to see when the CMs will start having the new Lanyard series 4 pins...

During the time you are going it's going to be slim pickings on the newest series of lanyard pins. Mid to late November and most of December should be earliest releases of series 4 lanyard pins. However you will be likely to find some of the series 3 lanyard pins hanging around. The best bets to finding pins are to hit the parks early in the morning and to go off the beaten path of the places you would normally would go looking for pins.

I returned on Friday the 23rd. I saw many cast lanyard pins. The pickings were best in the morning, the earlier the better. The most lanyard pins and the best choice seemed to be at the Animal Kingdom. The vendor at the pin cart near the village (just outside the Safari ride) had a book of pins to trade, but you needed to ask. I saw buses, Mickey and Goofy on safari, Disney dollars in various denominations, princess cameos, alphabet pins, and some older ones. I was also able to trade for several limited edition pins.

i just got back from disney and had a great time tradig. my goal was 200 pins but only got 161. the best place i found to get cast landyard pins was of the managers of the hotels by 7:30am. and also off the luggage handlers. (mostly the handlers) :cool1: . finding them at the parks is hard, when you got all the sharks there jumping and pushing you out of the way to get to the cast pins. so try the handlers through out the day you will find them there. happy pin trading. i did.

The hotel staff will have pins for trade? Is there really that many people trying to trade that you have to start at 7 am? WOW. I didn't know how big this was. Can't wait to try my hand at it.

Most (or at least many) Cast Members have lanyards (or the new "hip lanyards") to trade off of. Just remember to read the rules on ODPT...

I read there are pin trading stations at the parks. It said they were at the different parks in different little areas or shops. Anyone been to these? Did they have a good collection? thanks

I am going to MGM this Saturday... I might be able to see you there^^ If I see anyone who is trading pins, I will ask if you are from the DIS Boards.. Just remember that I am Corporal Radar^^

Anyways... Abouth the pin issue...

I have 9-11 pins for trade. My grandpa gave me a whole shoe box filled with them and I was thinking about trading them for Disney pins. I tried to get some one to trade with me... But they just snickered and then that was it. They said no... Why doesn't anyone want 9-11 pins???

Also... I am a huge Universal pin collector as well...^^ I got a whole mess of them.

If you would like to trade pins with me for a 9-11 one, I am going ot be at MGM from 12-6... I think. You can find me there somewhere. I think that I am going to wear my Black Back to the Future shirt that says 'Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads.' and I think my Tigger ears.
I will have my 9-11 lanyard with me... If you want to trade with me... Let me know that you are from the DIS boards.
