Trading in Ipads (?)

Has anyone ever traded in an Ipad? Any advice as to where to get the best trade-in value? Would I get a better deal if I traded in my old one and bought a new one at the same place?

Also, my Ipad is over 2 years old and is not holding a charge and becoming unresponsive (like me on Mondays, but I digress). Anyone know if that can be fixed or is it time to get a new one?

As always, advice is appreciated!

I did this more than a year ago when they had a buy-back at Target. (Someone posted about the deal here). They didn't have the one I wanted to buy in stock, so I got a gift card for the trade in amount and then came back the next week when they had stock in again. I traded a Ipad (first gen) and bought an iPad mini. I can't remember what the trade-in amount was, but with the gift card and another smaller gift card I had, I ended up paying a total of about $75 for the new iPad mini.

You would for sure get more selling it yourself rather then trading it in. I would look into the cost of having the battery replaced and go from there. Selling or trade in, it needs to be in good working order to get a good price for it.

Only two years old and bad battery? It could be you have lint in the charging port and it needs to be cleaned. However you say it's becoming unresponsive as well which leads me to believe both issues could be caused by a bad software update. Have you tried wiping it and installing the latest updates fresh? I would try that first before you do anything else.

We did the same thing. $200 for a first generation iPad at Target and bought a mini.

Best buy has decent trade ins on iPads.

We trade our old Apple devices at Gazelle. They've been reliable, give reasonable prices, and are pretty fast. They send you a box to pack your item in and send it back to them.

I know we could get more on Craigslist or Ebay, but I'm not willing to deal with the potential scammers on those sites on an item line an iPad or iPhone.

Thanks everyone!

I must investigate Gazelle. I think Apple may have a trade in program, but I'll stop by the store after work and see what they say.

I am also not willing to deal with Craigslist or Ebay. I'd rather take less money than worry about the scammers.
