Is that on St. Pete Beach?

We stayed there about 5 years ago and it was lovely. We had a room with a gulf balcony and it was beautiful - woke up to gorgeous views of the water every morning. Not sure about the "apartment" part - if it was the same type we had, it had 2 queen beds, a kitchenette with fridge, coffeemaker and as I remember a microwave.
The waterway around the hotel was also nice - you could get a mini gondola ride.
The piano bar was good (although it was pretty deserted when we went (over xmas) and it closed early most nights).
The restaurant was nice but pricey and we ate at a family run restaurant just down the road which had the most delicious Key Lime Pie! popcorn::
There was a great mini golf course across the road (Pirate's Cove I think pirate: ) which if it's still there will amuse your kids.
Not sure about room requests, sorry.
Also, don't know whether you've been to St. Petes before, but I would definitely recommend visiting Tarpon Springs which is nearby (it's such a quaint town and it is the sponge capital of the world!) Definitely try Dunedin too - there's a cafe there part of the best western hotel where you can sit on the jetty, eat gorgeous ice cream and watch the dolphins (they come extremely close!)
Have fun on your holiday :thumbsup2

St. Pete Beach is not near Orlando, it's at least an hour and a half drive. It is south of Tampa and St. Petersburg on the Gulf of Mexico.
god i am been really thick today, must be a blonde moment (all day)
yes it is St Petes, just south of clearwater in the Tampa region, a few miles west of orlando in FLORIDA

We stayed at St. Pete Beach last year, and we liked it. Not at your particular resort, though. It was nice to be able to walk to the beach, and have a place with a pool, because it was too cold in November to actually go in the Gulf. There were restaurants all up & down the coast, many different types to pick from.

When I research an area, I go to TripAdvisor.com and see what others think. I also belong to the AAA, so I check there for the star rating. I have more often been disappointed with their ratings, seems like they are too generous in the star-giving.

Tradewinds is very nice, and IMO the nicest, Serata (tradewind's neighbor) is newer, and nicer, but I like Tradewinds personality better.

Oh cool. We stayed a couple door down for the Tradewinds @ Coral Reef Beach Resort. Looked like a pretty nice place from the outside and it was a busy place. I would highly reccomend eating at http://www.seacritterscafe.com/The food was awesome and they make some GREAT tropical drinks. Don't park in their parking lot though. Park across the street:lol Also, The Seahorse had a great menu and prices for breakfast. Just a couple doors down from Sea Critter Cafe. I wish I was going with. I LOVED St. Pete.
