Trader Sams

Staying at Polynesian this summer and hoping to get into Trader Sam’s. We are a party of 8. Will this be an issue? We need to get in before 8pm since our kids are 16 and 19. Unless the vibe is not as fun before it’s 21 and over and try for later and let the kids do their own thing for a bit. Thoughts?

I have been before 8 pm and after 8 pm and the vibe felt the same to me. With a party of 8, your best bet is to get to Trader Sam's at 2:00 pm at the latest and get your name on the list so you are in the first wave of people when it opens at 3 pm. Make sure you are back in the hallway by the entrance by 2:45 pm to hear your name called. If you go later, you risk an incredibly long wait and a very, big chance you will not find seating space together as they will not hold a table for you - you will have to fill in spots as people leave. Being a party of 6 after 8 pm isn't going to help much either - most likely a long wait and you probably will not find seats together.

At open they call names.

After open it is a text with a 15 minute limit to be there or be dropped.

I agree with pp to go right before opening and be prepared to be separated. Every time I have been there with just DH and we are always seated with others. To me the vibe is the same whatever time you go but I much prefer the terrace actually with the live music in the evenings.
