I really want to go to Trader Sam's on the day we arrive. The only reservation I could get is for 7:40. We have a teenager and I understand it is over 21 only after 8:00. Will we be able to get in with a teen at this time or would we be better off going another day when I can get an earlier reservation?

We went with a 6-year-old at 7:10. We left about 8:10 (waiting for our server to return) and there were some families still there, but it wasn't super busy and the crowd was pretty laid back.

I'd say keep the current reservation but go early and see if they can get you in sooner. Meanwhile, you could keep checking for an earlier time or have a back-up reservation on another day (if you can get one).

From what I understand, I believe 8:00pm is only 21 and up inside, anyone with younger folks can sit in the outdoor area

Yes, that's right. We weren't kicked out right at 8, though we were ready to leave then. We just had to wait for our server to return with my cc

If you're hoping to be inside, I still think you could start there and at least get a chance to see everything. My grandson was absolutely enthralled with all of the effects, especially the volcano erupting and most particularly the tiki eyes that followed him around.

I do think there's a good chance you could get in earlier by asking in person, but I'm not sure how easy that would be for you and it may depend on when you're going (it might be more difficult if it's a really busy time).

We ate there at around 7:30pm with an under 18 year old. They don’t kick you out at 8pm. You just need to have a reservation before 8pm if you have minors in your dining party.
