Trader Joe's Goodies

My aunt is getting me some Charles Shaw merlot (a case!)- 2 buck Chuck! I'm looking forward to the Cary store opening.

I live in NH but go to TJ's in Mass...the one near us isn't allowed to carry wine(due to some blue law, only a certain amount of grocery stores are allowed to carry wine)--I miss the 2-buck chuck...although, from what I understand, has now become the 3-buck chuck :drinking1

I just saw a sign up at an old, closed grocery store near my house. They are turning it into a Trader Joe's. I have never been in a TJ store before. What is it? What do they sell?

By any chance is this closed grocery store on the corner of Cary Pkwy and Kildaire Farms Road???

My neighbor is so excited about this store that I caught her excitment. I also had never heard of it before, but we will have on soon!! :thumbsup2

They are basically oreos but with crushed up bits of candy cane mixed into the creme...I think they are new for the holidays :)

Does the sign have an opening date? I read an article awhile back on the N&O website about TJ coming, and it said they were tearing down the Winn Dixie building and putting up a new building. Have they started that yet? That's not somewere I drive by regularly, so I wouldn't know.

I love their frozen single servings of French onion soup. It's so easy just to pop one out and put it in the microwave. I live by myself so it's much easier to it that way. I also love the selection of cheeses.

Trader Joe's carries a lot of gluten free food so when we get a chance to go to the one about an hour away from us we do to stock up :)

frozen fish, all different kinds of sauces (my favorite is their curry simmer sauce), guacamole, hummus, salsas, chai.....

sometimes i will even head out to the tj's in virginia to pick up some wine (the stores around here don't sell alcohol).

We love the Massala simmer sauce. I just bought the Korma simmer sauce, but haven't tried it yet. My kids love the cinnamon schoolbook cookies.

I have not noticed the date on the sign yet. My neighbor said a while back that they were shooting for Oct, but missed that date I guess. If I find out I will post. Can't wait!

I need to go to TJs next week then for some pumpkin bread and pumpkin butter! I had a sample of something probably very similar at William Sonoma last week and it was sooooo good, but the price was very high. I know it won't be at TJs.

When I walk into Trader Joe's, I am immediately happy. I could spend hours in there, the people are friendly and the samples are yummy. Ok, some of my favorites:

--artisan breads, they are wonderful
--best selection of cheeses anywhere
--garlic oil
--produce: everything is always fresh
--TJ totilla chips and TJ salsa
--coconut shrimp (frozen)
--plain and key lime cheesecake (frozen)

It is a lot of fun just looking at all the unique products they have, and I have never been disappointed. Even my kitty's love their cat food. Oh, and their flowers are always nice too. Maybe I should work there. :)

Trader Joe's is the one thing I really miss since moving from California. I used to buy alot of my veggies such as Hearts of Romaine, Grean Beans, artichokes and such plus frozen goodies. I would love to see one come to my area.

I love the vegan trail mix cookies, chocolate covered soy nut, microwaveable miso bowls, chocolate rice milk, veggie potstickers and the Trader Joe’s brand cheese puffs.

Mmmm! Guess who's going to have to go to Trader Joe's this weekend!

I found this--- http://www.carynews.com/105/story/4717.html so its looking like a December opening. NC Beast and I will be going there to get some treats for the holidays. We like some of the teas, chips, cheeses, and other goodies.

I am on the outskirts of Charlotte. The store I am talking about is on Rea Road in the Piper Glen area. It was a Harris Teeter before. I had honestly never seen a Harris Teeter close down around here. They keep building more of them. I was surprised to see it close down. However, I am looking forward to TJ now!!!!!!!!!

They sell the only fat free Jalapeno jack cheese I ever loved!!!!!

Oh, I really did NOT need to know this. Now I am going to become a Trader Joe's addict. I can just tell!

What do you favor from Trader Joe's?
Oh, and you know to stock up--'cause stuff tends to disappear--like the banana crisps *poof* gone.

Pumpkin Butter
Candy-Cane Joe-Joe's
Banana Crisps
Granola Blends
Gabillion varieties of cheese (yummm, cheeeese)
Unfortunatley, you will not see the banana crisps for a while. :sad2: Apparently the factory could not keep up with the demand. So, they closed the factory and are rebuilding  I love those crisps.

Good thing I still have a bag!!

I have too many favorites to list but we love the cheeses, hummus, soy nuggets, frozen veggies and fruit and they have great turkey chili! I stocked up the other day...I had so much in my cart nothing else fit lol :cool1:
