Can you if you find a willing party trade memberships, for instance we are at SSR and want to get a BWV membership. We never stay at SSR but always stay at BWV, it is hard to get the times when we want without it being our home resort.

It would still involve passing ROFR and two new closings and deed recordings. It is not just swapping contracts due to all of the legal requirements - it is basically selling one contract and buying another.

On your travels book you SSR at 11 months than try the ole switcher ru at the 7 month mark. Eventually, with AKV fully online and a possible place at the Contemporary, things could loosen up for the Epcot resorts.

Another tactic is to pre-arrange with a BWV owner to make SSR 11 month booking for them in exchange for an 11 month booking at BWV for you. Unfortunately, many BWV owners may not be eager to switch to SSR, since the two resorts have very different styles and locations.

Great idea and thanks for the help, I really like the idea of trading with a BWV owner. P.S. we are fairly new to this DVC thing, I think that we will have a lot of questions, we have only been in for a little over a year. I hope that we can be as helpful to you all some day.

Another strategy for the OP who really wants to own at BWV is to buy add-ons at BWV each year as you can afford them. The minimum add-on without financing is 25 points. When you have enough BWV points, you can then sell the SSR points. Its not cheap to swich resorts this way. but it might be an option for you.

Best of luck -- Suzanne
