Trade ownership of add-ons?

Can this be done, and has it been done? We have our home resort, where most of our points are, and some add-on points for another DVC at WDW that we have never stayed in. Is it possible to trade ownership of those add-on points to someone for the same amount of add-on points at our home resort? That way we could have all our points at our home, and someone could have the same at their home, or points at a resort they would like to have. Without going through major RFR, and all sorts of other legal terms.

I have been checking on the same thing. It's my understanding that everything goes through ROFR, even it you try to give it to a relative. Then it's a little streamlined, but Disney still has ROFR.

Yes, essentially it is the same as selling your add-on and then buying a new add-on.
You will pay 2 closing fees. It might only be one ROFR though.

It's hard to find another member who is willing to go through the hassle though. And also hard to find someone who has an exact match as far as points status and Use Year.

A trade might be able to bypass any capital gains taxes though, but I'm not familiar with how taxes work on barters, so you should check with an accountant on that one.
