for those who may know... can i buy my tween a tracphone on the internet or ebay (used) and then buy minutes from tracphone site? thanks

still trying to get dc text only phone and cheap service. NO internet / browser wanted at all option on it.

Yes you can. Just a warning, I've had a lot of trouble with tracfone & their customer service. We just switched my son to chit chat mobile. 250 min & unlimited text for $9.99 a month. So far so good!

If you need customer service, you need to Google the Miami number. This is their corporate service number and the service is fantastic. I did just that 2 months ago when I needed help reactivating an old Tracfone for the youngest.

I know that shopcelldeals on Amazon is a legitimate and good Tracfone seller that has the phones cheaper than Tracfone. Or they may be the same price as on the Tracfone website but his will come with minutes.

Triple minute phones are the best deal!

Also, I never have trouble activating a brand new phone service, or adding minutes, but every time we get a new phone that we want to transfer an old number and minutes to, there is a problem. However, I just go on their forums and post my problem, and a CS rep answers and starts messaging back and forth until it is resolved. For me, that beats having to try to talk on the phone with them.

I have used tracfone for at least 10 years and have never had a problem with their customer service.

We also used them for years. Just recently started having issues with them randomly turning our phone off. They even gave our minutes & number to someone else. I just gave up after being frustrated so many times.

I preferred Page Plus Cellular to TracFone. Their minutes are good for longer than Page Plus' minutes and I didn't have to buy new cards all the time.

I've sold a few on eBay, before -- if you buy a used Tracfone from someone, you will require a new SIM card from TF -- they will send you one, at not cost, but if you're giving a gift, make sure the gift isn't serving as a paperweight during week 1...

Same here, I did buy my phone on Amazon and the minutes on the website, I got triple minutes with my phone and alway check for bonus minute codes when buying minutes online. As far as customer service, it's the language barrier thats the problem for me, try to do everything online or hang up and try to get someone that speaks English!

We had a tracfone years ago, a word of caution: if you loose the phone, you loose any value that is on the phone. At the time we had over $75 on the pone and we were out of luck. After that we switched to virgin.

They were able to transfer everything when my daughter lost her phone last year.

I have used tracfone or kids for a decade or more without issues. When I lost the phone, ran over he phone, dropped in toilet they were helpful. I did ine the alt Miami no. And it was fast and helpful.

I upgraded dd to a triple minute phone with Internet available last Christmas. Ds has safelink the minutes are great, we had local signal issue which was odd. A new SIM card fixed it.
