Tracking ebates cash back

I was looking through my ebates last month and noticed that some of my orders did not show cash back. Since sometimes I don't complete orders, I do have some that show without money attached.

However, I know I went through ebates on Black Friday and placed 2 big orders with Kohls. Neither one was showing cash back. Then I found another one for a retailer I only placed one order with and no cash there either. And a big Target ipad purchase was also at 0.

Today, I opened tickets on those 4 items and got cash back immediately applied for 3 of them. The ticket for the ipad says they will investigate first. Update- just checked store exclusions and they don't give credit for Apple products. Darn but understandable.

Is there a way you keep track of your order and the cash back? Is this normal? I assume it was just a glitch due to the overload of orders but just odd since it was a few of my larger orders that didn't show up.

Anyway, just a reminder if you use it, double check to make sure you are getting your credit. I have at least $30 that should be getting applied so it was worth the time to me to get tickets opened.

I had a lot of purchases that didn't credit this past cycle as well. And I also submitted a lot of trouble tickets today! This must be the day to catch up on those things!

I have a subfolder in my saved emails that is just for confirmation emails from purchases through ebates. I just go through the "cash back activity" on ebates and match the emails with the activity. Cash back activity that has been credited will already have a green check mark next to it. I think that it took me all of 15 minutes to submit 9 missed rebates.

That's a good idea! I will set up a folder next time. I forgot to go through ebates on a few orders this season but usually try to go through them for everything. DS is home sick today so I am trying to take care of those miscellaneous items. :thumbsup2

Hmmm, I was looking through my account last week and noticed two things that did not go through.

But, since they happened in the latter part of December and their terms and policies say to "wait 30 days" before pestering them, I was just putting them on hold.

But strange that we all are seeing this. They did sell to Rakuten last fall, wonder if new management is dropping the ball.

NEVER had problems before. :rolleyes1

I never knew what to do when I didn't receive a credit. Now I do. Just got $1.20 back on a groupon purchase:)

Yeah, I know a penny saved is a penny earned...but honestly, I would not bother for $1.20.;)

In truth, most of my "ebates" are in the 60-cent to $1.75 range it is sort of a laugh.

And most of my shopping seems to be at stores that don't participate, or offer only 1 percent....or I am using a coupon that voids the EBATE (but I get a much better offer with the coupon).

But, I DO make an effort when the purchase gets to the few dollar range or better.

Kohl's seemed not to work over Christmas. I had 2 orders from Black Friday, neither of which showed up until I emailed them at 30 datys out.

I had 4 Harry & David orders, some high-end handbags on ebags and a purchase from Rosetta Stone. Those were some HUGE rebates and I wasn't about to let them go. But since I was in the process of "complaining", I sent trouble tickets for Pier 1 (41¢), Ulta ($3.24) and Kohl's ($1.53).

:thumbsup2 I didn't know either but decided to find out. Everything adds up so I definitely plan to watch it closer and will follow up on any amount. I put in for .40 from a Yoyo.com order today that didn't show up.

Yeah, I remember getting either an email or message about how ebates was getting slammed that day. Usually I get an email saying X has been added to your account but got that message instead.

The cynical side of me wonders if they just cleared out a bunch of orders to save money and see who would come back looking for their credit. I really don't know how the process works though so I'm trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. The credit did show up quickly today after I put in the tickets.

Exactly. It was so easy to put in a ticket and worth it to me to follow up. I'm getting $70+ back this quarter. While there were a few orders that brought in big rebates, a lot of charges were little ones that just added up.

It took less than a minute. It was worth it to me.

i think kohls had a major issue over the holidays with ebates.
i too placed 3 orders with kohls between black friday and mid december and my cash back was not showing up.
i filled out 3 forms to find out where my money for those 3 orders were and i got a response from ebates within 2 days. they added the correct amount of cash back and said that kohls had not done what they were supposed to do and thats why the money was never put in to begin with.

It takes like one minute to make a ticket. That's silly to lose money over that. I also have never had ebates reject an ebate due to using a coupon code not on their website.

I use multiple cash back sites, and shop through whichever has the highest percentage that day. So, an email folder doesn't work for me because I can't tell which site I used for each purchase.

I keep an Excel document with a simple list, and then I color the cell green once my cash back posts as pending. I can then easily tell when, after 30 days, I haven't turned a cell green. I just record the date of purchase, which cash back site I used, the retailer, the cash back percentage, and my purchase amount. Then I have it calculate what my cash back should be.

And I file an inquiry for any and all cash back, no matter how small.

I do love a colored Excel spreadsheet! I just set up all of our bills and color coded them by which check they come out of this year. Ok, I have to ask - what other sites do you use for cash back?

At this point I mainly just use Ebates, Mr. Rebates, and then my Discover card shopping portal. Discover usually has the highest amounts, but doesn't have as many stores as Ebates and Mr. Rebates. Between Ebates and Mr. Rebates, I find that Mr. Rebates tends to have higher percentages at the stores that I frequent the most. And I'm a sucker for Excel - I keep the majority of my life in some sort of spreadsheet.
