I think Aurora has it right, after the test cruise, they have to conduct medical monitoring of passengers for a period of time. So until those data are collected and a report prepared, they will have to keep pushing the return to sail dates. I saw on another thread that someone (maybe Aurora) was saying an estimated 20 days for CDC authorization after completion of the test sailing.
I agree that it makes no sense to do test cruises out of NYC for October if the CSO will expire 11/1.
I am quickly losing hope for Fantasy 9/25 - which is to celebrate the first anniversary of our 20th anniversary (that cruise was cancelled last September).
Yeah, that was me. The tech guidance says 14 days post-sail data, and then I'm fluffing some weekend, some admin time for turnaround. Even if it's faster than a business week past the 14-day mark, you certainly don't want to be messing with passengers to the last freaking SECOND with that sail certification. Getting a certificate Wednesday for a Saturday sailing? Urrrgh.
With a 6/29 Test Sailing date, my wiggly number for +14 post sail is 7/17, add a week and that puts you at 7/24 for a possible certificate okaying sailing assuming all goes well. I expect they want to give at least two weeks' notice that a sailing WILL be happening, possibly slightly more.Interesting that it seems, for the Dream at least, they are now canceling 1 week at a time instead of the whole month. Do they feel they are close to deciding on a re-start date for the Dream?
