I received the "Back To School Specials" from Tracfone and decided to add a 1 year service card with 1000 minutes using code 61972 for $99.00.
I tried the website and it was acting funky. I called customer service and was on the phone 35 minutes because the agent did not know how to look up my code. I said its from an email. He says, "What Year Is The EMail From"? Excuse me, it is an August 2011 email. He didn't know what to do so it took him 20 extra minutes to get a supervisor to help. He quoted $159.00, and I said NO, I have a code. Another 10 minutes and he comes back with the correct information. $99.99 for 1 year of service and 400+400+200=1000 minutes. I was frustrated, but I finalized the transaction because that is what I needed and the code 61972 expires 8/31/2011.

Ah so you have spoken to "Peggy" in India too. Tracfone has terrible customer service. I can understand your frustration.

This is the only reason that we haven't switched... you get what you pay for here. The savings would be great, but I prefer the customer service Verizon has given us.

Yes they have the worst cs. Sometimes you are lucky enough to get someone with fairly good english skills. I have hung up and called back and had better results than trying to get "Peggy" to understand!

The phone itself is good for my needs. We just use the cellphone for travel and emergencies and text messages. Its just that the website was a mess, or I would have just clicked on the special offer in my email and purchased what I needed. I didn't want to speak to "Peggy"..

I love my Tracfone, but dread calling them at all. I dropped my phone in the toilet last week and luckily it still works. Switching the number and minutes to a new phone would have been a pain.

Never dealt with Tracfone CS, but I've read to call the Miami number. Supposedly you get great customer service at that number. Google for the Miami Tracfone number.

Visit howardforums.com and go to the forum page. From there, scroll down to the Tracfone/Net10 section. Tons of Tracfone information there.

I have even read there how to get an iPhone or a Droid phone working on Straight Talk (obviously in the Straight talk section, but I followed someone's signature.)
