Scones are scones here as well. Biscuits are something different. I don't even know how to describe an American biscuit. It's like a hockey puck (size and shape) of flaky, buttery dough. They usually aren't flavored and they are super yummy served hot with butter and jam (or some like them with gravy

)! OK, I'm torturing myself now...
Yes i had the biscuit (we call it a scone!!) with cream & jam

I am so ready for the break - feeling really tired!!!
Got DD's school report when i got home - it was excellent, but had a few digs/comments on her attendance e.g. 'a brilliant report - but think even how much better it might have been with 100% attendence!!!' (due to us going to FL to get married) i wrote a long letter at the time explaining why we were going & asking for work to take with us (we booked so far in advance that at the time we were waiting to find out which school she was going to) & they still wouldnt authorise it.
This is from a school that has had complaints for the number of extra inset days (school closures) they have taken, up to the point where they are telling parents to teach missed lessons via the internet!!!
The only other comment was that she neeeds to participate more in lessons - speak out, ask for help etc
So i have written a lengthy reply on the parents reply form!! Not sure if this was a good idea after 2 large glasses of wine & 2 ciders!!! Heres what i wrote:
'I am very pleased with Leannes report! With regards to her attendance - the only unauthorised absence was when we went abroad for our wedding, which i had asked to be authorised & had offered to take work with us - this was declined! (even after a lengthy letter) All other absence was due to genuine illness & authorised. Or due to extra inset days.
I know Leanne has felt intimidated by outspoken class members & i feel this contributes to her confidence in speaking out & asking for help during lessons.
We have spoken to Leanne about this & have encouraged her.
I am a little concerned that Leannes confidence in her abilities has declined slightly in secondary school, but we are monitering the situation & encouraging & praising her efforts.
If any suggestions can be made to help her in this area they would be appreciated.
Well done Leanne! We are proud of you!
Regarding attendence - i telephoned the school several weeks ago to discuss the matter & was told i would get a return call that i am still witing for - 3 weeks later.'
What do you think?????
I am angry about the attendence issue - i work in a school its not like i will take her out again, but we were getting married!!!!
Rant over
We are taking 60 children to the movies tomorrow afternoon to watch 'Charlotte Web' nice end to the week before we break up
