We were married on August 4th of this year, but before I tell you about it, there is some background I must tell you. My DH and I run his DM's roof cleaning business (because she knows nothing about it and only owns it due to his brother in law (long story).) The summer's in Florida are very slow (outside of Orlando) and can be difficult to manage. This summer was the worst. The hurricane's of '04 & '05 had many roof's damaged and/or replaced, so everyone is hesitant to spend any money maintaining their roofs. Not to mention Homeowner's Assosication's and cities were not citing people for it because of all the damage. Some money has been very tight in the business. DMIL never stopped to see how tight the money was until the week before our special weekend. In fact in June when I set up the Site Visit with my SM, Joe, I told her about it and she was very excited!

Day 1 - Wednedsday, August 2nd
DH asked DMIL if she wanted to go to the courthouse with us and gave her our plans for the weekend. She was all excited! She told every patient in the office (DFIL is an eye surgeon, and we were in the process of moving my office in the conference room in his office). That night after a long day of work, she had us painting (off the clock) the old office and bay we were moving out of. She calls Brian up and tells him that we could go this weekend, there was too much work for us to do to pull the business out of the hole. He told her that we were going whether she liked it or not that every weekend we work off the clocks and this weekend we would be in Orlando. She replied telling him that she would close the business. He said fine we'll stay. It was already within 5 days of our trip, so we couldn't cancel our reservation at the Yacht Club. Poor guy was stuck between me and his DM. Even for just stress reasons, we needed a vacay to rewind, but she didn't care. Great way to start a marriage huh!?

Day 2 - Thursday August 3rd
I told Brian to tell DMIL that we had to go away this weekend, blah blah blah. After about 4 hours of her fighting us on what we were going to do anyways, behind her back or not, she gave in. Oh yeah, we were fixing drywall until 11:30pm after working since 7:30am! In the dark! And she was complaining, we weren't.

Day 3 - Friday the BIG DAY August 4th
We worked all day as usually, but started 1 hour earlier so we could get off by 4. On my lunch break my DM took me to the Mall to get a dress to wear to the courthouse, because she didn'treally like the dress I was going to wear, but hey she bought me a new one, I wasnt going to complain. We got a pretty white dress with gold glitter and empire waist. Very pretty. Then I went back to work. DMIL came in to work later to wish us good luck, much to my surprise. After work it was time!!
Brian and I went home to get ready, the courthouse closed at 5 and we were 10 minutes away. But he had been working outside in the heat all day with chlorine, so he smelled. Once we were fresh and ready to go, we left. We parked 2 blocks away, the closest we could find in a hurry, and ran. As we were running, he says "Im not going to cry, your family might think so because my nose is congested, and Ill be sniffling, but I won't cry". Famous last words Finally we get to the 3rd floor, to be greeted by my dad. He said "What your not wearing that beautiful wedding dress I bought you?" He was joking so I just laughed it off. We made it just in time 4:58pm. We walked into the room, It was a normal courthouse office room. A big counter in the front, and a bunch of desks in the back. A lady had us swear in, I thought we would be doing our ceremony there and was alittle disappointed. Then she pointed to a door to our right and told us to wait in there.
As we walked in, I found it plain but elegant. I was expecting Vegas style cheesyness. The few pieces of decor and furniture, were very nice and pretty. About 5 minutes later, she walkes in to begin our ceremony. (I wish I had pictures to post, my DM hasnt developed hers, and I only have it on video). The ceremony begins, and he has that Im going to cry look on his face. He says his vows first, and crys!!!!! Which made me laugh, Famous last words! The ceremony went by so fast I really do not remember it. After the ceremony, my dad went by Russo's (a great sub shop) to get everyone sandwiches while we walked back to my car. Oh yeah, we hadn't packed yet!! My DM gives us these white JUST MARRIED flags from Party City. They're made of plastic. DONT USE THEM. They came apart going 35 mph, and marked up me '05 RED Dodge Neon pretty bad.
We rushed home, changed clothes and started packing. Its a 3 hour drive to WDW from my house, and we had dinner planned for 9:45pm at the Castle. It was 5:30pm when my dad got back with the subs, we scarfed them down and ran to WDW.

To be continued - The Hectic Disneymoon!!!!

We drove to WDW as quickly as possible in hopes we wouldn't be late. Then what do you know? Oseola Parkway's exit was closed!!! We had to drive 25 minutes in heavy traffic to I-4, then drive all the way to WDW. We passed under the Welcome to Walt Disney World sign at 9:45pm, our dinner time. Then we realized our tix were at home still in the jar in the bedroom! Believe it or not, we were so excited to finally be married that we didn't even care.
The nice CM at the gate let us in after verifying that we had Seasonal Passes (we were going to upgrade to Annual since it was a blockout date.) We ran all the way back to the castle, oh yeah she called the castle to confirm that we were there just 15 minutes late. There was a CM at the footsteps of the Castle that was giving us a hard time because the fireworks were starting in seconds, but finally let us go through. When we got to the entrance of Cinderella's Round Table, they were surprised that we didn't have a baby. Because we were running so late, they had to add a person to our table since there were no more 2-seater tables. We ran in to get our picture with Cinderella. It didn't turn out like I was hoping it would, but we're going to incorporate this picture when we have our Real wedding. Then we walked upstairs to be seated. The bad thing was that due to all the excitement, we were no longer hungry. Right after we were seated Wishes started and we loved the view. Alot of the fireworks are shot from the stores behind the castle, and if you've seen Wishes enough to know what to expect, this really makes it different. You can kinda hear the music from it, but we really enjoyed it. It was the first time we could actually sit down and enjoy ourselves! Right after we placed our order, the Fairy Godmother came out and did her little show. It was really cute, she came over to us right at the end and asked if we were newlyweds. I said yes. Then she told me to film Brian, as she asked him what our anniversary date is, it caught him way off guard, and he had put food in his mouth seconds before. It was great I love embarrassing him. After we were done with dinner, they brought out our "wedding cake". I had the castle printed on the cake and it said, "Best Wishes Sarah & Brian". He about died. After we ate a piece we left.
We had to go to City Hall to upgrade our tickets. (Note: if you buy tickets from AAA at a discounted price, you'll have to pay that price difference. I thought I would not have to pay that difference, they're sneaky like that LOL). So we paid for the upgrade got our tickets, and left to go to our hotel.

Day 4 - Saturday August 5th
At 1am, we arrived at our hotel and went to check-in. They were able to store our cake in their freezer so that it wouldn't go bad. Then we went up to our room. As soon as we walked in we were shocked. We paid for the regular standard room with standard (parking lot) view. But the first thing we saw was the awesome huge bed!!! Then I wanted to see the view, so I went to the window. But it wasn't a window, but doors to our balcony. I opened the doors and looked to see what was out there, and saw that there right there was the wedding gazebo. We were going to have a intimate wedding, until DMIL insisted that we have a big enough wedding for all her medical friends. Anyways enough about her. We were so tired that we just laid down and passed out.
At 7:30 we woke up and got ready for Animal Kingdom. While he was in the shower, I walked around the property and video taped it. When I got back to the room he was just about to get dressed. Its funny it takes me 20mins to get ready, but 1.5hrs for him! Finally at 8:15amwe left for AK. When we got there we went straight for the ME ride, the wait was already 70 minutes long! And the fastpass wait was 10:15! The worst thing was that our meeting with the WP was at 11am. So we walked around until 10, then went to the ME ride, We got out and in the car by 10:35! The ride was great but Im not giving a spoiler. I will say that RnR is still the best!! But if I learned nothing else for our real honeymoon is NOT IN AUGUST!!!!!! :sunny: :furious: And DO NOT GO TO THE EARLY AND LATE PARKS!!!!!

More to come - Our site visit

As a fellow west palm native, I'd just like to chime in with, Russo's is the greatest sub shop ever! I've never met anyone else who has eaten there (outside of fam and friends, of course). Hooray, Russo's! They used to FedEx subs around the country (they don't anymore) and I remember I was so bummed when they said they couldn't FedEx to Orlando because it was too close, of all things! Sorry for hijacking the thread. Please continue with fabulous Disney/wedding stuff...
