We also have a door sign for our door in WDW at the POP made in gold, similar to this but in the shape of a Mickey head-it says, "Celebrate Life" on it and it is gold b/c that is the color for Childhood cancer awareness. I will get a photo of that as soon as I can.

Tell you about some of our past trips soon, maybe even the MAW one if I have time!! THAT was quite a trip!

See Ya!-Lori

Don't know WHY my photro is so big, kind'a wierd...

Lori,

It looks like we may cross paths on Monday. We'll be at MGM til around 3pm.

Wednesday is MK late morning for us as well.....

Plus, again I'll be at Pop the first few days you're there so.....

Jordan, you need to come join the Feb 2008 thrread!!! We'd love to have you over there!

Lori

I cried when you said she drew Mickey for MAW!

You seem to have handled this so well, and are still filled with such humor and love.... I hope you and your beautiful family have the absolute best possible time in WDW. You all deserve it. :goodvibes

Thank you, I hope we do too!
If you don't LAUGH at the crappy things that can happen in this life, you cry, right!!??? I did a LOT of both, as did my family. Even thouigh we are almost 5 years out, moments come up that remind you of something from her 2.5 years of chemo. I cried when she was in dancing. I cried when she turned 10. I cried when I could stop carrying a portable toilet seat b/c I was afraid of germs causing her to get sick and wind up in the hospital. I MOSTLY cried , when after 2.5 years of my child asking me to go barefoot and I could finally say YES! She couldn't b/c she had a port and if she stubbed her toe or stepped on something she'd be a high risk for infection. The day she had her port out, at 5 and 1/2 years old, she walked into the house, took off her shoes and said, "Mom, it's out, I'm going to play outside BAREFOOT!" I hesitated a few seconds b/c I mean, she just had surgery and stitches were fresh and all those years of "no"-I said, "heck yeah baby, go have fun!" She was swinging and dragging her feet in the grassy muddy spot underneath. Ir was AWESOME!!!

Lori

Hi,
I am enjoying your pre-trippie. I am also from Louisiana. I am from New Iberia. We are going February 4-10. My husband is also a big LSU fan. Go Tigers! We went to Atlanta last weekend for the game. My husband and son went to the game. My daughters and i just went for the trip and parties. How can I find the february 2008 thread. I think I have posted on it a while back but I am not sure. :thumbsup2

Okay my cousin went EVERY year when we were growing up-we are the same age and went to the same school and are even friends nowadays!

I always wondered WHAT the big deal was b/c her parents would ask her every year where she wanted to go on vacation and EVERY year she said "Disney!!"

I was never jealous b/c I did not know what I was missing-just curious about the BIG DEAL....:confused3

FINALLY, when I was 16, my parents mustered up the funding to go to Disney with 4 kids(I am the oldest)-we camped at FW in our popup camper. I love that place. I have fond memories of bringing my little sister to the Chip and Dale breakfast(on our own) and seeing "Cinderella" on the movie screen in the clearing at FW(back then it was bleachers from what i remember). No smore's. I remember the CLEANEST bathrooms of any campground I have ever been too. And we used to camp a LOT-every vacation was in our camper-we never stayed in hotels. Even though my cousin stayed at the Polynesian or the Contemporary every year, I felt no loss at staying at FW-LOVED it! Ironically, we never went with them that year-1986. We did go to the Poly for the luau though and I thought it was cool.

I remember walking on Main St and seeing the castle and "I'Ve Got No Strings" playing somewhere and I danced on Main St like a 16 year old fool! :cool1: hey, I thought it was appropriate! Me and my 6 year old sister. I do not remember much else other than NOT enjoying EPCOT at all. I remember it was hot and summer, I think. But I also remember long lines, which is the reason I did not go back until I NOT with my dad anymore -I was married:bride: about 2 years when I went next-1995...My dad D:mad: the lines, but he is more comfortable in a cabin or tent somewhere in the woods anyway!

Ever since that WDW trip, I fell in love with Disney-not just the parks- the movies, Walt, his history. I had just started dating my now DHpirate: right before our Griswold Family trip to WDW in 1986 and he knew of my love and started my movie collectiion for me and even gave me a Little Mermaid singing watch one year. Working in the restaurant field, waiting tables (:headache: )-I was called "Minnie" b/c they say I always smiled. Ha!!!

DH and I thought of doing WDW for our honeymoon but I know myself well-I'd have been jumping on the bed at 7am screaming-"GET UP LETS GO COME ON!!!":cheer2: So we stayed in Destin for 10 wonderful days-on the beach:love: . VERY relaxing. The beach was always the first love for both of us. I do still love the beach but don't feel as comfortable on it being that I have had 2 pregnancies and an extra stressful time in my life of fat cells on my body!!! Now, I WILL get IN the water-bearing no sharks anywhere nearby:sad2: !

Anyway,we had some friends over for a BBQ and we all said, "hey, we need to do Disney together!" and we booked and planned it that day! So we stayed at Shades of Green in March 1995 with our Marine:thumbsup2 friend and his wife, my friend. We flew for that trip and that was awesome!

SOG is an awesome place to stay if you are eligible. They have (or used to have) a delicious place to eat in the back of the resort. Wonderful hamburgers and fruit salads.

I have to say, WDW without kids or siblings was a BLAST! :thumbsup2 I mean, we drank a little at Pleasure Island and it was a different trip. We went to some club(80's) and I had a silk tunic on(leggings were popular back then and tunic shirts-1995) and was horrified when someone pointed at me b/c they could see my white bra through my silk top!!! :scared1: All you saw was BRA! DH never noticed right off the bat and we had JUST walked in when the pointing happened! If I hadn't had a drink I would have been more horrified!:rotfl: Anyway, we left there!

Then we had babies(1997princess: and 1999princess: ) and it was not an option(to me and DH) to do WDW until they got a little older-well, then firstborn DD gave us that scare of our lives:eek:   (back to page one for the story) and we lived a bit in fear but learned a lot and were pretty much stuck at home most of the time b/c of getting her sick. We DID go out some , for sanity or when her labs were good or she'd wear a mask.

Our next trip to WDW was March 2002 for her "wish" from Make a Wish:wizard: ....it was a rollercoaster ride much like Rockin' Roller Coaster but LONGER to get that trip going....

I will write about that soon, it will be a long one!!!

Lori:goodvibes

Lol!! That is hilarious!! Got one on you though.. Check my lil spring break story out. I was about 18 years old, wrap around skirts were in style. We had gone done to Ensenada Mexico for spring break. I drank like it was going out of style and I was hammered, so much so that I decided to get on a table and dance (so out of character for me), to make a long story short while I was dancing that skirt fell right down to my ankles. :lmao: The best (or worse) part my little brother got it on video

Then we had babies(1997princess: and 1999princess: ) ]

Mines were born the same years!

OMG!!! That is hilarious ... and embarrasing. Yeah, I guess mine was pretty mild-I have had a few other more drink induced worse times, but thankfully, not many. I have never been much of a drinker BUT the times I did, I made a fool of myself!!

Are your kids both princesses, or do you have a prince or 2??I don't remember.
Yeah, I am goofy enough without alcohol inducing it!!:rolleyes1

Well when your that young and stupid its not embarrassing, now I hope and pray its something my kids never see, or worse end up doing/being.

I have a Handsome Prince, Adrian, he’s 10 and my Baby Girl Alyssa is 8.

I LOVE thier names-we have a new neice named Alyssa. She is about 3 months old.

Yeah you are right, embarrassing NOW, not then-FUNNY then!!!:rotfl:
And I hope mine don't go through it either-BUT is it inevitable??? Is it gonna happen no matter how great we think we raise them?? I just pray that "time" isn't life shattering like some can be! uuuhhggggg-don't want to think about it yet... we just gotta' do our best, I guess. Or lock'em up:thumbsup2 .

Lori

Subbing!:thumbsup2 I know what you went through, as we're going through it now. :sad1: BUT we are happy to have such a great plan (her tumors are out! :woohoo: ) and prognosis! We're going to the world 1/27! We planned our trip before she was dx, put planning on hold (now knowing when surgery would be) and then decided two weeks ago we were going to GO! DD is so excited and I think this will help her get through the next three months.

Can't wait for the rest of the pre-trip and the trip report! :) Hugs to you!

MERRY CHRISTMAS FRIENDS!!!

Lori and family

Hi Lori, I have just found this report and am sitting here reading it at 5 am Christmas morning while I breastfeed my month old son. Im crying and itchy so thanks :)

I am also very thankful that the most I have to worry about is getting enough sleep to deal with Cullen (nearly two) and Seth for the whole of Christmas day. As I think about my two precious boys I hope I never have to experience anything as terrifying as what you and your family have been through.

Oh and it is very difficult to type with one hand with just the light of the laptop screen to see the keys.

Best wishes for your upcoming trip and forever.

Kirsten

OMG Kirsten, i am sorry to make you sad AND itchy!

Anyway, what a bleesing you have in your sons and a NEW baby!!!Congratulations! I think that is the BEST gift! Our kids are the best gifts from God.

Enjoy your Christmas over there in the UK-you may be almost at the endd of your day. You said you were up at 5am writing that and it said 10:45pm on my screen(Dis board). It is 12:35 here in Louisiana right now.

I do hope that a cure or vaccine to cancer can be found in my lifetime. I to see or hear of ANY child dealing with it. I hope and pray that your children will ALWAYS remain healthy. I do not wish that on anyone, even a scrooge!!!
