TR LIVE from BCV with PICS!! - Final thoughts Post #53

Welcome to my first TR with pics!!
Who we are: Me – Nikki, DH-John, DD5- Audra, DD2 – Giana

Travel day started yesterday the 28th. We were up at 6am – which is usual for us!! We got ready and had breakfast and patiently waited! At 9:30a we left for PIT for our 1:15p flight. DH was worried about holiday traffic, but we encountered very little and made it in 1hr 10min. The girls and I checked the bags while DH parked. The security line was longer than I have ever seen but it moved quickly. We had one of our bags opened because I have a roll of quarters that they were unable to identify in the screen. Slight delay but nothing big, definitely safety is more important!
Off we went to lunch at TGIFridays. The girls ate well since they had been too excited to eat breakfast. Then we took them to Kidsport to run off some energy before getting on the plane. We landed early in FL at 3:10p, gathered our luggage and our rental car and off to BCV!!!
I went to check in while DH parked the car. I stopped at bell services since we had been notified by OL, MagicStrollers & Garden Grocer that our things had been delivered. Within 20 mins they were in the room. We almost weren’t – because our room is the LAST one on our wing!! I could not believe how long that hallway was!! The good news is we are just one flight of stairs to the parking lot which is perfect after a long day at the parks!!
We ordered Giordano’s for dinner – thin crust pepperoni – we have all decided that this must be a tradition!!! YUM!!!
We thought about going to MK for SpectroMagic but decided to turn in early to be well rested for Sunday at AK!!

We were up at our usual 6am. Breakfast in the room, ready and out the door by 8:20a - we arrived at AK and were in the security line by 8:30a - yes - 6 mins drive from BCV to AK and we were in the 2nd parking line!!

To Safaris

By far the most animals we have ever seen on a safari!!

A visit with Pocahantas and then on to the Festival of the Lion King!!

DDs got to be in the muscial parade!!

Next we went to Dinoland to do the dig site - DD5 thinks that is one of the best parts of AK!!

We had lunch at Flame Tree BBQ, DH had the 1/2 chicken and I had the pork sandwich. After lunch we explored the tree.

After many pics of the tree - I took 176 today -we went to search for some pressed pennies. And then to the 2pm showing of Nemo the musical.

Then we went for some meet and greets:

This is the first time in six trips I have ever seen Thumper!

Go Steelers!! Even with a 3rd string QB- we have to believe!!!

Next the Jingle Jungle Parade - oh and springy ears for the girls!!

We finished off our day at AK with dinner at Rainforest Cafe. It was loud and dark and the photos did not come out well. DH had the trio platter - steak, ribs & coconut shrimp. He said the steak was good - I ate the shrimp - YUM!! But his ribs were very fatty and not great. I had the BBQ baconburger and it was tasty. DD5 had mini hotdogs with corn and DD2 had pizza. We returned to the BCV and explored a little. We will return in daylight to take photos.

They are doing decorate a gingerbreadman in the lobby and the girls each did one - so cute and the gingerbread carosel is up - photos tomorrow!!

NEXT - day 3 - DHS!!!

Thanks Marsha!! I am going to add our Steelers photo! DH needed to wait until the outcome of lasat night's game!! Although the Ravens prevailed - sorry if you are a fan - I know you are from MD!! - we held our own with a 3rd string QB!!!!

As for BCV - we LOVE it so far. Beautiful - the sitting areas!! We are going to explore more today!!

BTW- Live TRs aren't hard with girls who go to bed early - usually 7p - on vacation as late as 8p!! Althought they rise between 5:30a and 6a!!!

Congrats to DD!!! Our oldest was 2 1/2 for her 1st trip and our youngest was 7mos!! We have wnjoyed every trip at every age!!

I do love me a live TR!! Thanks for the safari pictures...you had one of my favorite animal on there but I can never remember the name...I think it starts with a "B." He is brown with a white head and antlers.
Looks like you are having a great time and good weather Did you smell the hot chocolate from Minnie's tub during the Jingle Jungle Parade? I remember Samantha Brown saying that from one of her Disney specials!

Hi all and thanks for joining!! No hot chocolate smell I didn't know to smell for one!!!

We were going to MVMCP but may decide to skip it - didn't buy tics yet just in case! I want to do the CP and Merry Mixer and tonight we did the Osborne Lights so we will see what our remaining time is like!!

Last night we explored BC a little. Here is the tree in The Breezeway:

Then we went to the lobby to look at the gingerbread caurosel:

They have a little shop where you can buy gingerbread cookies and house kits and from 6-8p every evening the kids can decorate a cookie

From there we headed to bed to start our day today!! We were up at 5:30a - I told you all my girls were early risers!!We decided to try the boat to DHS so we explored the resort a little more on our way:

It took about 35 min from arrival at the dock- a boat came in about 10 min - to docking at DHS. We have a rental and will use the car from now on!!!

We arrived at the gate at 9:02a and off to TSM, I went to FP and DH to standby. The line for FP was crazy long but moved fast, when I got our FP (return time 10:50a) we went to standby which said 40 min, we made it through in 32min and off to our 1st ride on TSM!!!

Next we had a quick snack and then to the Voyage of the Little Mermaid, next Playhouse Disney and finally to Meet & Greet. You no longer have to wait for the Magic of Disney Animation. The line is split in two and to the left is MDA and to the right M&G. When we got in we went to the line for the characters from UP! since it was shorter than Mickey boy were we WRONG!! We waited over 40 mins - we didn't wait that long for TSM when we got the the front of the line - 1 family ahead of us Russel and Carl took a break - but good news - Doug came out with them!!

And leave it to Disney for even more magic, as we ate lunch at Starring Rolls........SQUIRREL!!!

Seriously he crawled up on a table with one couple and attempted to get into my backpack which was on the stroller!! Thanks to the CM at Starring Rolls who as soon as we left they were sanitizing the table!!

We finished our lunch and headed to the dock - some of us were cranky and needed a nap!!

The four of us napped and at 4:05p we left BCV, we arrived in the parking lot of DHS and got on the tram at 4:15p we were at the gate - NO MORE BOATS!!!! Off to our ADR @ 50s Prime Time. This was a first for us and it was great!! We lived the atmosphere and the food - Aunt Liz's fried Chicken was AMAZING. DH, DD5 and I all tried collard greens and liked them!! We cleaned our plates so Aunt Jan didn't yell at us!! I'm hungry now thinking about that chicken!!!

After dinner we went to the Osbourne Lights - this is one of my FAVORITE parts of WDW at Christmas!!!

After the Lights we went to the finale show of AI - also a first for us and WOW!! it was amazing - the girl I voted for won!!!Congratualtions Catherine from Quebec!!!

Nice pics We always walk to DHS when we stay at BWV and BCV. It takes about 15 minutes.

Hey Monika - I won't hold the Ravens against you - each team has to have their loyals!!

manntra - we were so lucky to see so many animals!! Glad you are enjoying!!

I have taken a ridiculous number of photos and if anyone has any photo requests I will do my best!!!

I thought I remembered you saying in another post that you were transplanted in MD! Eagles are OK - better than those RAVENS ! Sorry Monika !
