TR -Dexter and Skylar Drive Mommy Crazy! With Pictures and Videos. Updated 2/17/09

So I'm starting to feel like a real risk taker! I have found airfare for $205 round trip for each of us. Still really expensive but at the same time about $50 less then a few weeks ago. But I think I am still going to wait it out for now. Only time will tell if it is the right move. I am signed up for almost every airlines email alerts so I am hoping to hear some good news soon.

OT - My family will be moving in a few weeks so I am going to be really busy with packing and such. So if my post slow down quite a bit that is why.
We can't wait to move. Right now we are renting at an Avalon Community apartments. I'm not sure if any of you have heard of them before or not - but they look like townhouses from the outside. It is three floors and has a one car attached garage. It seems really nice until you move in and can hear the neighbors cough and some of their conversations. Not to mention if you are on the same schedule as them there is no need to set your alarm clock. (right now actually I am 'enjoying' their music )We are moving into a 2bed 2bath single family home. It is still a rental, but we have the option to buy. I can't wait!!!!

Hi Natale

I was looking at the photos of your cute kids in your signature on another report, when I realized my fall trip overlaps with yours. So I came over to say Hi! and join in.

This trip is just my son and I , we will be there 9/26-9/30. Have not booked the room yet but we think we will stay at POP. But would go with another Value if they had a discount. He is 12 so no little kid pool for us.

Your kids are adorable! That is so cute that Dexter wanted to put the sticker on the one.

So far we have airfare. Since we are going for such a short trip we really needed to leave at a specific time on Fri to get to Orlando for MNSSHP. Also I wanted to fly direct and only so many direct flights. I booked SW a couple of days after they went on sale. Should be interesting to see if it goes down. Noramally we travel on school vacations when airfare does not go down it only sells out.

I'm not sure if you use Jetblue from your airport but today I was able to find a discounted direct flight on JB. Thought I'd let you know in case flights from your area were reduced.

Hi everyone!!!

103 days until we leave. Thank you to every one who has stayed subscribed. I know I haven't updated in a VERY long time!!
And to make it up to you Dexter did a little dance.


We are now moved into our new home. It is so nice that we no longer have to worry about Dexter playing and laughing too loud!

I am still holding out for cheap airfare. I really feel like I'm gambling now. I saw it for $99 each way but waited too long to book it. But I have this feeling that Southwest is going to come up with something better. We'll see!

Now that life is finally starting to slow down we can start getting excited about Disney again!!!

It's fun to hear other people think so too.


So I kinda figured out by reading other peoples PTR that I'm really not that good at them.
I don't have as much updated information as everyone. Sure I can fill pages and pages of information on how my kids are growing up... but I think as far as PTR go I am a much better reader then writer.
I will continue to update with the few little things that are going on with my Trip - but they are not much. But rest assure that once we get back from Disney I will have a completed TR with a bunch of picture.

So I am sitting by my computer, probably most of the day. Today they are releasing special airfare from SW. I guess this is their anniversary. Hopefully I'll have our transportation figured out by the end of the day.

I haven't updated my PTR in awhile either. I figure it's at least a place where I know I wrote down my adrs and itinerary so I can go there if I ever forget!

We are going the exact same dates as you and staying at POP also. I'm also in the same boat as you as far as airfare. I'm listening for the DING all day today.

We went last Sept during free dining and booked $65 each way on a DING. We didn't book until late July though so it is giving me hope. I don't even think we booked our trip until end of June, the last day of the free dining offer.

Let's hope for a good DING for Chicago to Orlando!

Heck, we might even be on the same flight. I'm hoping for an early morning dept and a late afternoon / early evening flight back.

Your ADR's look good! I've never eaten at Trails End, I'll have to keep that in mind for next trip. We have all our ADR's set and I refuse to try to mess with them anymore!

Ok ... So this is what happened today.

I called my mom to tell her the airfare that I was going to book because I am getting very nervous. It wasn't great $260 for just me and Skylar (she will ride on my lap).

OH - I'm not sure if I ever told you guys that Shawn & Dexter were going to drive down with my parents to avoid paying airfare for them. But me and Sky were going to fly because a baby on a road trip isn't so much fun.

OK - back to today. So my mom drops a bomb shell on me. She said that my dad has been talking about not going. That it is a lot of money to spend in this economy.
I agree that this isn't the best time to be spending money - BUT - if they don't go then I have to fork out another $500-$600 so that my boys can fly.

I'm not sure whats going to happen yet. We are trying so hard to pay off credit cards that $500-$600 can go a long way.
Shawn is at work and still doesn't know that any of this happened.

So that was my day... so I have a few questions for you.

1- Has any one from Chicago recently found good prices on airfare?

2- Do I have to change my ADR from 6 people to 4? (I'm so afraid that I won't be able to get into some of the restaurants that I booked a VERY long time ago)

3- Know any get rich quick schemes?

I'll let u know whats going on as soon as I do.
