TPAS2 Alumni and friends thread

Thanks guys, I'll keep you updated on job search. I have a in for a oncall job, when I first applied a month ago there were lots of hours, but they are now going through a patient slow down, so I don't know if I can get many hours, I am also working on getting a temp assignment in alitte town 70 miles away. If I land it I'll get 13 weeks of fulltime pay, which will help alot.

I'm planning on going back to school for radiology. Unemployment pays for job re-training, so I went and signed up today.

I grabbed a print out of all the available jobs in my area today while I was at the unemployment office....there's nothing out there right now, and the jobs that are available are paying like $8 and hour! :scared1:

So sorry to here about the layoffs. It is great that you are looking at getting retrained. John, good luck with the assignment. I have been busy on Facebook instead of here.

We had a great trip to Vegas. Vegas is bargains galore. Even the best restaurants had deals like 50% off the wine list. My wife and I had some great wine that we normally would not have ordered. The kids loved Vegas and want to go back. The lights, the Bellagio fountains, hanging by the pool, the Mirage volcano, Ceasar's Forum shopping, etc. You can get a deluxe room at the luxury hotels like Bellagio for nearly $75 and I saw a new deal at MGM grand for $50/night and they will include their buffet!

I didn't really gamble at all. I just don't find it fun. It was a very good family vacation??!!@ Vegas a family vacation, sounds funny.

My job is only part time three days aweek and the drive is hell I have drive through the major cities durning rush morning (its no freak'n hour) to get there and back. It is paying all the major bills so we are safe from the Big Bad Wolf and I am learning new stuff. I still want to be secured in a full time position locally and just have to wait.

Will do!!!!

Okay...its time for me do a do a little bragging! So I told you guys about the summer my program at MIT my 11 year old applied for......well we got a letter telling us he was selected. :woohoo::woohoo: I am excited, but it is a very though intensive program. Monday-Friday 8-5, tests, homework, etc. He is just over the moon that he is going to learning on the MIT campus. Besides that last week was his school Math Fair. Friday they announced the results and my son won for his grade. We were also told that the winning projects are going to be displayed at the Museum of Science in Boston. Its been a great couple of days here.....and exactly 3 weeks from today DH and I will be leaving for our cruise!!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Cruz, that is great news and tell him congrats. That summer program sounds great. Does it run the whole summer? I hope he gets some time off.

Go Sox.

It is a five week course, so he will still get some time for fun (not that he wouldn't consider going to MIT fun...:sad2:) He was also asked to apply for the DARTS program (Days In The Arts) held out in Wic's neck of the woods at Tanglewood. Apparently his drama teacher says he is also a great little actor (don't ask me where he gets all this stuff from :confused3). That is a week long camp experience with enrichment in the arts sponsored by the Boston Symphony Orchestra....my 16 year old went when he was 11 for his dancing. He absolutely loved it, but it made me physically ill not having him home. I don't think we are go let Trey go....we don't want to over do it. To end the summer we are surprising the boys with nine nights at WDW. My grandmother has been bugging me to go back, so when free dining came out again we decided to go for it.

We have actually done CG on the last three trips, so we decided to skip it next time. We are upgrading the free dining to deluxe dining. We figure most days we will need a midday break from he heat and do a sit down lunch. Dinner will be signature dining most days. Here is my preliminary list......

Jiko
HDDR
Yachtsman
Narcoosee
Brown Derby
CRT
Teddan Edo
Yak & Yeti
Ragland Road
Beaches & Cream
Chefs de France
Le Cellier

Only 11 days till our 4 night cruise and 3 nights at the Dolphin. DH and I are trying a couple of new places (Plaza, Citrico, and Chefs de France) as well as our old favorite Le Cellier. Cheese soup and Mushroom Fillet here I come!!!! :woohoo:

Hey now, I'm not that far west! I live smack dab in the northern central part of this state. :rotfl2: Tanglewood is about an hour or so away from me. Congrats, it sounds like you've got one very talented son there Cruz! :yay:

Narcosee, Brown Derby and CRT are fantastic! We go to Narcosee on every trip and really enjoy heading over to the Grand Floridian, walking through the lobby and over the restaurant.

CRT is always a favorite. What is not to like when you are eating in Cindy's castle. The only thing better would be staying the night in the Castle Suite.
