TPAS2 Alumni and friends thread

I can't wait to check out your trip report!! We have 4 months, 2 weeks, and 1 day to go, and nothing gets more excited then hearing about other peoples trips.
Speaking of bdays today my oldest Tevin is 15, where does the time go? Then in just over a week on July 4th, I will be the ripe old age of 35. :dance3:

Thanks Cruzie!! You will have to let me know if you do a report. I forsee loads and loads of food reviews/pictures ::yes:: Have a WONDERFUL trip!!

John, "great lengths". That is all is am going to say.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: must. resist. commenting. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

T, I really like your trip report. It looks like you all had a wonderful time. You don't get any bonus points by arriving at MK past noon! Hmmm, we may need to revoke your commando status for that!

Your kids are growing as fast as mine. DD just turned 12 and DS will be 15 in Sept. We will be heading to NJ Shore for the first two weeks in July. We will be going into Philly via SW airlines. Looking forward to a relaxing vacation along the Jersey shore. We are staying in Mantoloking which is near Point Pleasant Beach.

Thanks for checking in Trek!! I miss you guys' commentary/comments/general chit chat on a daily basis since that what-the-heck-a-sadi is over.

I asked over on the trip thread, but do I at least get half-credit for no lines on the rides?? :lmao: :lmao:

You went to the shore around the same time last year, right? Be sure to wave as your plane flies in.......I'll give you a shout out as well :)

Trek, that sounds great! The big question my family of foodies would want to know is............ are you gonna stop in Philly for a cheesesteak?

That would be dangerous.....they may not be able to tear him away and get him to the beach :rolleyes1 :cool2:

Trek don't think great lengths fits, why do think I wear them? I need the room, why do you wear tight shorts? :lmao:

John

Oh boy.....here we go!!!!!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

You do get half credit for not waiting in lines. Our plane in Philly gets in just after noon so we may stop for a cheesesteak since it is lunchtime. You are correct we did go to NJ last year but I think it was later in the summer.

John, touche!

Ok, now a follow-up question..........would that be Pats or Genos?
Yes we are a food obsessed family!!!!:thumbsup2

Pats, I do not even let kids say the "G" word in this house, and of course the second answer is "with"

John

We are all wiz wits!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
The funny thing is we have never been to Philly, but we are with Pats all the way. My husband decided when we saw the story about them having a sign saying that you had to order in English. He thought that was just great. Maybe a little odd considering he is Puerto Rican and I am half Cuban. Oh, did I mention my inlaws dont speak English? ;)

chickie as long as you keep speaking the language of love, I will be a puppy at your feet. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

John

Down boy down!!!!:dog2: <------is it just me or is that dog creepy looking?

Yeah, now that you've pointed it out....Yup that dog is a little creepy looking isn't he???

So does anyone have any big plans for the holiday weekend coming up???

I'm going into Boston on the 4th for the Pop's concert and fireworks! :thumbsup2

With the boys at camp, My wife and I are going to the D-Backs game Friday.
Its been weird not hearing them trying to rip each others throats out.

John

We don't have any plans. I assume we'll go watch the fireworks like we usually do.

The 4th happens to be my bday and we always spend it in Boston. We use to go down to the esplanade but about 8 years ago we found this nice little hill in Boston Common. It gives you a great view of the fireworks with out a ton of people. It is amazing because no matter how hot the day is, there always seems to be this lovely breeze come sun down. We throw down some blankets, relax, eat some yummy dessert, and enjoy the show. The downside is we cant see the Pops, we listen on a little radio, but it is obviously not the same.:sad2:
Hey wic, are you eating dinner in the city? Let me know if you need any recomendations, Boston food is my specialty......okay ANY FOOD is my speciality! ;)

We're plunking ourselves down at the esplanade and not moving! :rotfl2: This is going to be our daughters first esplanade experience on the 4th, should be an interesting day for her! :scared:

Yeah I know FOOD is your specialty! :lmao: :lmao:

Yeah, get the heck off my piece of cardboard...it's my seat! :rotfl2: My dad's cousin has been going every year for like the last 40 years, she get's front row center every year. Maybe I'll try and find her, I haven't seen her in years!

Lack of air conditioning I can handle, the lack of alcohol though...:scared1: :drinking1 :rolleyes1

Have a great birthday Cruz! :bday: Think of me when the cannon's go off during the 1812 Overture, I'll be right in the heart of the celebration! :thumbsup2

The first year I lived in CO, my co-workers took me to a 4th of July festival in Denver, the CO equivalent to the Pop's were playing and they started playing 1812 Overture...I looked my a couple of my co-workers who were also from MA and was like what the heck is that? It was horrible! :scared1: I got home found the televised Boston celebration and watched that and cried! I had just basically moved out there and I was seriously homesick! :rotfl2:

Yea, when I think 4th of July Denver is not what comes to mind.
We are going to be having my bday dinner at Maggianos, have any of you ever been? Its a chain, so I may have to give up my Food Snob membership card. But boy it is the best deal in town (town being the city of Boston, LOL). Its family style, about $25 per person (adult) like $ 13 for a child. You choose 2 apps, 2 salads, 2 pasta (some of pasta choices include linguine w/clam sauce, spaghetti & meatballs, eggplant parm. etc., not just ziti w/ sauce and such) 2 entrees (meat dishes like chicken parm., Italian pot roast, brasiole (sp?) etc., and 2 desserts. The best part is you can order as much as you would like and take home what you don't eat. It is great!!!!!
No, I do not own stock........just thought I would share.
Happy Independence day to All!!!!!
