Toystoryduo's Journal....Moving Forward From Here

Congrats on the lost lbs! Kick them to the curb for good!!:cool1:

It is amazing what you have been accomplishing. Hopefully, with all of the dejunking, you will be able to easily maintain the house.

Hope the rest of your weekend is good.

Thanks Lesli. :hug:

:cheer2:Way to go, BUCKEYES!!!!:cheer2: Rose Bowl, here we come!:flower3:

We got a lot done yesterday...cleaning, painting, shopping for party. I still never got our bedroom cleaned and organized, but that is on my to do list for the week ahead. For today, I'll just shut the bedroom door! ;)

The party starts at 1:00 p.m. and we are expecting about 20 people. Our house is a small ranch so I'm glad the weather will be nice so the kids can go outside. :goodvibes

Tomorrow is DD's actual birthday. I'm not sure what the plans are quite yet. We may do Chuck E Cheese or we may go to the mall and get her a Disney gift card for our trip. We'll have to wait and see....

I'll try and finish up my Christmas shopping this week. We're doing Thanksgiving with my DH's family next Sunday so we'll find out about Christmas exchanges then.

That's about all from here...Have a great Sunday!:grouphug:

Sounds like a good turnout is expected for the party! Have a wonderful time! :cheer2:

Hi Tracy,

I hope dd had a wonderful birthday party! And I'm a bit early, but Happy Birthday to her (its almost tomorrow ;))

I am sure the party was a success and all I can say is thank goodness you don't live here. Given our bunches of snow, those kids would have been inside the whole time!

Wow! You are really buzzing around the house with that to do list. I hope you all had a great time at the party.

I hope the birthday celebration went well - and the weather held for you.

Christmas shopping...sigh, haven't even started. Soon, I keep telling myself - soon!

Here's to a productive Monday

Tracy
Thank you for the rebate web site. I love rebates!:love:

Congrats on the loss!:woohoo:

Happy Birthday to Tracy's DD.:bday:

Hope she had a great party yesterday. I hear you about just shutting a door. Been known to do that myself.

Thanks ladies.:grouphug:

DD's birthday party went very well!:goodvibes She had a blast with her cousins and the weather was nice so they could go outside and play. She got $40 cash, a $25 Walmart gift card, movies, activity books, magic tricks for kids, a turtleneck, and a Mickey shirt. Our next door neighbor came over this morning and brought her a gift as well. My DD is a blessed little girl!:goodvibes Happy 9th Birthday, sweetie!!!! :bday:

Today's Plan:

When my DH gets home from work today, we'll let her open her gifts (new bedding set and a bean bag chair; got new shoes a week ago) we'll probably take the kids to Chuck E Cheese to play games. (NOT eating there!:sad2: ) After that, we'll head to the mall for a Disney gift card for DD and then go out to eat.

Hope everyone has a great Monday!:grouphug:

Happy b-day to your DD! Next thing you know, she will be in double digits. :scared1: Sounds like she had a great time and got lots of gifts, with more fun happening today! :banana:

Thanks Amy.:goodvibes I can't believe my DD is 9 years old already!:eek:

Yesterday didn't go as planned. My DH got stuck at work and ended up having some equipment stolen that he needed for the job to get finished. :eek: He'll have to go back tomorrow with another tech to make sure that his equipment (which we bought @ Home Depot last night) doesn't get stolen again. He will get reimbursed for it, but it's still a pain.

Anyways, he got home late from work so DD9 decided she wanted to go out to eat at Damon's. So we ate there, went to Home Depot, and Walmart to buy her a skateboard from her sister as a birthday gift. Came home, DH fixed the washer and dryer, and we watched the Browns lose on Monday night. Shocking, I know.:sad2: I need a new football team to root for! ;)

Today's Plan:

* Homeschooling
* Clean my dresser
* Read WW materials again
* Workout
* paperwork

Not much else going on here...Hope everyone has a great Tuesday!:grouphug:

sounds like your DD enjoyed her birthday -

I need to make a list of things to do today...LOL, I keep getting distracted

Just wait until your DD turns 22. That one I still am trying to phathom. Good to hear that she had a good birthday.;)

Hope you get all your goals in today.

It is SO frustrating getting things stolen! :mad: I hope everything works out and your DH gets reimbursed.

You can root for the AZ Cardinals!!! :cheer2:

That is so bad somebody stole your dh's equipment. I am glad he'll be reimbursed but what a pain.

So glad your dd had a great birthday! I can't believe she's 9. I think when I first came on here she had just turned 5!

Hope you have a very good day today. Is your warm weather still holding?

Thanks ladies. :grouphug: Amy, I may take you up on cheering for the Cardinals. I'm a huge Kurt Warner fan!!!:cheer2:

I'm thinking about trying the WW Flex Plan. I did some calculating and it seems I need 31 points a day to lose weight. Do I understand the program correctly in that you also get 35 flex points to use throughout the week and you can earn activity points as well? For those of you that have done the program, do you plan your meals in advance based on points or do you write down your food and calculate your points as you go? Any information would be greatly appreciated!:goodvibes

To Do List Update:
* Homeschooling (DONE!)
* Clean my dresser (DONE!)
* Read WW materials again (DONE!)
* Workout
* paperwork

Getting ready to head to my MIL's house for dinner and NCIS. Have a great evening!:goodvibes

I was not a Warner fan until a couple years ago. He does so much for the community. And one of my favorite things is that when he and his family go out to dinner, they will always pick someone in the restaurant and anonymously buy their meal. I gained a whole lot of respect for him at that point. Plus, he's not too shabby when he's having a good game!

Did you ever go see Christmas Carol? I saw in People magazine this morning that it didn't recommend it for kids under 8.

Looks like you are really staying on top of that cleaning thing. ;)

I haven't done WW, but I would suggest that you track your eating as you go. If for no other reason than it is an eye opener. Sure you can plan to have that shrimp cocktail, chips, stuffed mushroom, or whatever you can fill up a party plate with when you are out and it doesn't seem so bad. But when you record as you go (ok, mentally at at party), you may decide that 1/2 the food on that party plate just isn't worth the calories or the used WW points. Some foods will really shock you. :scared1: Besides it really makes you more aware of your habits and what you can do differently.

Good luck if you go that route.

Hey Tracy.

You are correct. You get 31 points a day (exactly what I get since you and I weigh the same). Then you get the 35 flex points. You can take those how you want. I generally (if I am behaving) save them for the weekend. If you don't use them in a week, you lose them, they don't carry over. Some people are able to lose weight and take all their flex points and any activity points they use, others cannot. I generally take all my flex points but don't take my actiivty points unless I am really hungry. As I have gotten older, I can't eat as much (even within points) and still lose weight. You also have to follow the healthy guidlines, of getting in your fruits and veggies, healthy oil (in addition to things like butter, margerine and salad dressing), two servings of dairy, water intake and stuff like that. That is to ensure you use your daily points for the good stuff, not a bunch of junk!

Its a great program, very easy to use and you'll get very good at learing how many points for the foods you often eat.

I like to figure points out when I buy stuff and write the points values on the box or package.

The best thing I have found for success is to count backwards each day. I figure dinner first (it comes last at the end of the day whe if you have'nt planned you can be out of or low on points). So lets say I plan my dinner, know that I'll be eating 12 points, then I know I have 19 points to get me thorugh the rest of the day. If I don't know what I am eating for dinner I almost always run over because its very easy to do!

Hopefully that helps, don't let my bad track record swear you from the plan! Sadly, I have done it so many times for so long, I could lead meetings and come off sounding pretty knowledgeable!

Thanks ladies!:grouphug:

It's been a productive morning so far and before 8:00 a.m.! I've gotten the bed made, worked out, checked e-mails, and had breakfast. Plus, I was able to extend the car rental for December for a full two weeks!! :banana: We have a full size reserved through Alamo for $289 for two weeks out the door! :woohoo: I'm gonna keep working on getting that price down. Before I added those extra 4 days, I had the rental down to $210! :eek: Wish I was this motivated to get this much done every morning! ;)

Today's Plan:

* Homeschooling
* Haircuts
* Help DH with work
* Laundry
* Library

Did I mention that we got paid last week on two contracts that were outstanding? :banana: One account was a year past due and the other account was 6 months past due. It wasn't much, but I am glad we can close the books on those accounts. We have one account left that is 8 months past due and that is a couple of thousand dollars without late fees. I doubt we'll ever see that money, but we'll keep trying! ::yes::

Weigh-in is tomorrow. Not sure what the scale will show as I haven't been OP all week. We'll just have to wait and see.

Have a great day! :grouphug:

Amy~ I read that about the Warners in their book. (Great read!) I have been a huge fan of his since we picked him for our Fantasy Football team when he played for the Rams. :goodvibes I really like how he and his family give back to the community.

Lesli~ Great suggestion!:thumbsup2 Thanks! :goodvibes I think that I am going to track my eating for a few days before starting WW.

Amy~ Thanks for all of the info on WW!:goodvibes I'm going to track food for a few days before getting started. I like how you plan dinner first and then figure how many points you have for the rest of the day. Great idea!:thumbsup2
