Toystoryduo’s Journal: Baby Steps are the Key... Celebrate Each Victory!

Hi Tracy
well done for getting that awesome workout in :) you should be very proud!
I am terrible at recognising people so maybe the woman at the gym just wasnt aware!! Whatever her reasons try not to let it bother you :)

Hope DH's grandma is doing better.
Did you find you ate the chips & stuff after your long workout?
I found when i did a good workout i was thinking it was ok to eat more - just starting to learn i cant do that!!!

Hi, Tracy. Sorry you had a long, drama-filled weekend. I know you said this will be a long week, but I hope you get some rest and some time to take care of you.

Congrats on paying off your WDW trips in advance. That's really smart!

Hope you have a great afternoon/evening!

Susan

Thanks Tracey and Susan.

Today has been an okay day. It's kind of hard since I'm so tired.:faint: The girls are working on finishing up the majority of their subjects for homeschooling. They're done with Science, Health, History, and Math. They're both going to continue working on phonics and reading throughout the summer..... It will be nice not to have to homeschool everyday. It will give both the girls and I a much needed break. :goodvibes

I'm not sure if I will get the laundry done or a walk in today. If not, both things can be done tomorrow when hopefully, I have more energy. ;)

We may make a trip to the library tonight and a trip to Walgreens as well.

That's about all from here. Hope everyone has a great evening!

Hi!

First off, thank you so much for the kindness and support you offer, even when I'm not around to tell you how much appreciate it. You truly have a heart of gold. :)

I'm sorry to hear about the famliy drama and your DH's grandma's setback. I hope she takes a turn for the better soon and all those bickering family members get a big dose of perspective.

I continue to be amazed at your drive and perserverence at the gym! You're doing great things for yourself there!

Happy last day of school! :cool1: You've all worked hard--it will be great to enjoy some downtime.

Congrats on making more trip payments as well! It will feel great to have that taken care of so you can enjoy your trip without the bills hanging over your head. I can't believe it's so soon now!

Have a wonderful day today!

Hi, sweetie! How are you? I have been thinking of you so much and hoping that you are enjoying the prospect of a bit less on your plate. Hopefully, with homeschooling being a bit less of a time commitment, you'll be able to slow down a bit and smell the flowers! :) :flower1: How are your workouts going these days? I've ordered some pilates DVDs so that even if I can't get to the gym, I have no excuse not to do something -- do the girls show any interest in working out with you? Do you think you'll be able to take some walks with them now that the school burden is a bit less?

Thinking of you and sending a hug!

Thanks pearlieq and Cam!

Today was a good day. We decided to skip the zoo. My DH took the girls out for lunch and to play baseball at the park and I got to stay home and read in peace and quiet.:goodvibes It wasn't exactly the way I envisioned our last official day of homeschooling for the school year, but it worked out anyhow.:goodvibes

My DH has to work tomorrow so we'll stay home and get some laundry done. If the weather is nice, maybe we'll take a walk up to the store.

I'm skipping the gym this week....I've been getting some walks in and will probably do a FIRM workout tomorrow. I hope to start back at the gym on Monday.

I hope everyone has a great evening!

****************************************************************************************

pearlieq~ Thank you so much for your kind words. :goodvibes I hope you know how much I appreciate you and your friendship. Thanks WISH sis!

Cam~ Thank you so much!!!! Have I told you lately how much you ROCK?!?!? ;) :rockband: I so appreciate the love and encouragement that you send my way. Thanks WISH sis!

My workouts haven't been all that great this week. I decided to take a week off from the gym due to the holiday and due to TOM. I have been getting walks in and may get a FIRM workout in tomorrow. The girls love to take walks and would probably enjoy working out as well. We do play kickball and take bike rides in the summer....Now, if the weather would cooperate, we'd be all set!::yes::

HI Tracy! Yay for Homeschool being done!!! I hope you guys have a great summer!!! I hope you are able to rest up a bit and enjoy the break.

Double Yay for paying down your WDW Trips! That is always a good feeling isn't it!

Hope you have nice, restful weekend!
Stacie

Thanks Stacie!

I got my FIRM workout in plus another 10 minutes of weights! I did Supercharged Sculpting today. :yay: It felt good! :woohoo:

Plans for the rest of the afternoon.....

1) Make a grocery list with lots of fruits and veggies!

2) Walk to the bank/ let the kids pick out a $1 item at the store

With rebates and surveys from the month of May, I've made over $72 for our Disney fund!!! Woohoo!

My DH called a few minutes ago...He won't be able to get the Disney gift card until tomorrow. The store he went to today is closing and they don't have the gift cards anymore. :( Oh well....We'll just pay it off tomorrow!:goodvibes

Have a great day everyone!

well done on another awesome workout Tracy :)
life is looking pretty good for you :)

Thanks Tracey.

The past few days have been pretty good. We had a great weekend of relaxing and spending time with my DH. (Since he deejays in the summer and fall, we don't see him much on Saturdays and church on Sunday keeps us busy.) We went to an outdoor mall and walked around, we went to church on Sunday, and we went to the zoo and the mall yesterday. So far, I have 180 minutes of exercise for the month.

Today,we have some running around to do. I also have to do some research online for phonics programs because my DD7 doesn't like the one we currently use. I'm also hoping to have a Disney meeting today so that everyone knows where we are at in terms of earning/saving money for the trip. Hopefully, the girls will understand how much time, effort, and money goes into our vacations and appreciate that.

That's about all from here....Hope everyone has a great day!

It's kind of quiet around here....Hope everyone is doing well!

Not much going on today....DH has to work so we will be home for the day. It's supposed to rain today so we probably won't be outside much. I guess that leaves cleaning and reading as our options! ;)

I went to the gym this morning and did 30 minutes on the elliptical and 15 minutes on upper body weights. Total minutes for the month: 225 minutes.

We didn't have the Disney meeting last night. I was kind of cranky and didn't want to have the meeting. Maybe sometime this week.....

Hope everyone has a great day!

Hi, Tracy. Great job on getting your exercise in! Congrats on finishing up homeschooling for another year. Tara homeschooled for many years, so I remember how good it felt to get another year behind us! I have a phonics program that she used when she was younger - I'll dig it out and let you know what the name of it is. Maybe your girls can use it and you won't have to put a bunch of money into a new one!

And Disney meetings should always be fun ones! Don't worry - there will be plenty of time to discuss things when everyone is in a great mood!

Hope you have a good day!

Susan

HI Tracy. Glad to see you are doing ok. Sound like today may be nice restful day for you. Yay for going to the gym!

I think you were right to put of the disney meeting. They should always be fun!

Hope you have a great day!
Stacie

Hi Tracy
Glad life is continuing to be good :)
You are turning into a real exercise machine - keep it up you are doing great :)
our balance for wdw is due next week...gulp...

Good morning everyone,

Sorry I haven't been on in awhile....I don't know where the time goes sometimes!:faint:

It's been hot here this week!::yes:: Our a/c has been running most of the time. I think it's supposed to start cooling down on Tuesday.

Today, my DDs will surprise their dad by celebrating Father's Day today. He has to deejay next week and I will be babysitting my niece and nephew so we decided to give him his special day today. We created a scavenger hunt for him to find his gifts. The girls got him socks, slippers, a new wallet with a Burger King gift card, a pair of pants, a dress shirt, a filter for the fish tank (so he doesn't have to change it every other day), some car air fresheners, mints, and as a joke, some stuff from our CVS stockpile. ;) We also will be taking him to Cedar Point soon (just found out we can get super discounted tickets!!) and we'll be going to Outrback for dinner this evening. They are very excited about the scavenger hunt! :yay: :yay: I had to get up early to "plant" the final clue so he wouldn't see it last night when he got home from deejaying.:thumbsup2

We are officially double digit dancing for WDW!  We're all getting pretty excited!:woohoo:

That's about all from here....Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

Hey Tracy! I love the scavenger hunt idea, and that the girls wanted to celebrate fathers day early. :goodvibes (I might just borrow the hunt idea for next week ;) )

Have a great day and dinner tonight too!

And congrats on the double digit dancing. That's SO exciting!

Thanks Kim! My DH loved the scavenger hunt and his gifts!:thumbsup2

I weighed in today. :( Why? Because yesterday I was at Kohls in front of a full length mirror and could not believe how I looked. We don't have a full length mirror here at home and at Kohls, they had three in the dressing room. I was shocked at how I look. :worried:

So, the scale read 230.6 this morning. This is the highest weight I have ever been. I've been thinking about what I am doing wrong and it's glaringly obvious....it's the food. :( I've been working out. I've even been doing 60 minutes on the elliptical once a week, in addition to my other workouts. I thought I was eating better, but I guess if I were to journal every single bite, I'd probably be surprised at what I would find.

It hurts a lot to think that at this time last year, I was only 50 pounds away from my goal weight. (150) Now, I am 80 pounds away from my goal weight and it is overwhelming to say the least. I know that the journey ahead will not be easy, but I have to start now.

Goals for this week:

1) Drink at least 64 ounces of water.
2) Get some type of exercise in each day, even if it's just a walk around the block or 100 crunches.

I'm going to spend some time praying about this whole thing as well. I know that I can't do this on my own. I will need the Lord's help to accomplish my goals each week. My weight is not healthy. I'm not healthy. Now is the time to do something about it.

Today's Plan:

* Laundry

* Vacation Bible School for DD7 (DD5 is too young still.)

* Read/ Research curriculum choices for next year.

That's about all from here. Hope everyone has a great day!

Hi Wish Sis, I really missed you and am sending you a gentle  out to you. As usual, your life and mine seem to mirror. I too did some looking in a three way mirror recently and was just aghast. We also weigh almost exactly the same thing. And my goal weight is 150. So we have 80 pounds to lose, big deal! We have faced bigger obstacles than this and we can do this. I always say (based on my trainer of long ago wise words) that food is about 75% of my equation. In the end, if you overeat there's just not enough minutes in the day to burn all that off. I know we can do it. Lets both plan to journal our food to the bite and also to plan meals ahead. Amy (lovinaz) taught me a long time ago that if I plan the meals a week in advance it works like a charm. I know we can do it together sweetie. We have a nice summer ahead to think about ourselves and our weigh with no school issues to mire us down.

You have three months until that birthday trip, lets see what we can get done in that 93 days!

And I hate to tell you this, I DID NOT (can you believe this) ride Spaceship Earth one time! It was down one day and the next time we were at Epcot dd basically got heat stroke and we had to leave. I saw it from the air in the plane and literally cried. Now how do I go to WDW for 16 days and not ride that? Didn't ride Exepdition Everest either. So you HAVE to ride both of those for me multiple times in three months okay??!!

Hi, Tracy! I am glad to see you posting and what a wonderful surprise for DH!!! He is so blessed that you and the girls show him your appreciation with all of your thoughtfulness.
I am so sorry that you are struggling with the weight issue. You know I understand so well exactly what you are going through. It is difficult to realize that the exercise will help us lose weight only if we are eating sensibly. It is a lesson I struggle with every day. I know we can support each other to our respective goals. You have that fabulous vacation to look forward to (and I have my vow renewal). Even though it is not wise to try to lose "FOR" a particular event, I think it is a wonderful thing to do to envision ourselves in that future situation as better than we are now. I am not sure my imagination is quite that good, but let's give it a shot, right? ;) So, let's set a goal. By the time of our goal dates, we are going to weigh less than we do now, but we are going to be so much "more" than we are now, because of the strength and discipline that we'll call upon to get there. :woohoo:
WISHing you a wonderful day, sweetie!
