Toystoryduo’s Journal: Baby Steps are the Key... Celebrate Each Victory!

Hi Tracy
It sounded a fun day at the hotel :)
I had a similar eye opener too, when i read the calorie content of my breakfast cereal!!! I had decided to cut out my croissants but now i think they may have less cals!!!!
Hope free dining isnt for Aug next year i will be gutted to have missed out on that when we've already booked :(

Sounds like you two have your plans under control. Since both of you are committed, it can only make it easier :)

I love this quote of yours "today is a new day with new choices." Too often I find myself giving up because of bad choice I made the day or days before. I have toremember this quote--thank you so much for the reminder!

I hope you have a fantastic day!

Thanks Tracey and Bekki.:hug:

Yesterday was an okay day.... My DH was in Cleveland for a de-install and the guy who had to open the building didn't show up until 2 hours later. My DH was not a happy guy. :mad: He did get the de-install done and went on his way.

We started the Power 90 workouts yesterday and I have to say I like them.:thumbsup2 Their eating plan is sensible and not so strict that I don't think can do it. We have our meals planned out for next week and will shop for the food towards the end of the week. In the meantime, we're going to try and use portion control with the food we have at home. We both have realized that we are consuming way too many calories.:eek:

Today's Plan:

* Homeschool

* Laundry

* Clean a section of our bedroom

* straighten up the house a bit

Hope everyone has a great day!:cool1:

I don't know that much about Power 90--what does it entail?

I had quite the excercise in portion control yesterday...as I noticed I have none :rotfl

Have a great day!

Hi Tracy

Sorry to hear that things didn't go the way they were planned for the birthday party. You are right about nothing but God being able to change people.

Glad you had a good Easter and the kids had a blast!!!

Keep up the good work!!!

Have a great day :)

Hi Tracy
Its great that DH is working with you on the new plan :)
I blame my DH for many of my downfalls..... plus my lack of willpower!!!

Hi, Tracy! So glad you had a wonderful Easter. The outing to the hotel sounds like such a great idea, especially if it means you don't have to clean up after everyone eats, right? ;)
Good luck to you and DH as you start becoming more aware of portion sizes and calorie content. Using sparkpeople has really been an education for me. It is shocking how many calories can be in what we view as healthy size portions.
I hope you get a lot more clients booked for WDW vacations this year -- more Disney $$ for your family, right?
Keep up the good work, WISH friend! Most of the time, understanding the battle is the first step in winning the war! pixiedust:

Hey Tracy,

Glad to hear you had a nice Easter! Sounds like your girls had a blast!!!! Reading your posts had me thinking that I really need to watch my portions, as I know I eat WAY to large of portions! Realizing that you need to keep track of portion size is a great step!

Keep up the good work, you are doing awesome!

Good morning WISH friends,

Thank you so much for stopping by!:grouphug: Yesterday was an okay day... My DH and I are trying to come to a decision regarding homeschooling for next year. We've both come to the conclusion that we will continue homeschooling. What we haven't decided is how we are going to go about it. Will we stay with the online charter school or branch out into something else?:confused3 We have to decide soon so we'll keep praying for the right direction.

Today's Plan:

* Homeschool

* Laundry

* Work with DH?

* Straighten the house up

* Rewards Programs

* Library

That's about all for today. Hope everyone has a great day!:goodvibes

********************************************************

Tracey~ I never realized how many calories were in some of my favorite foods either!:eek: It is certainly an eye opening experience.

Bekki~ Power 90 is a series of 6 cardio+ strength+ ab workouts featuring Tony Horton as the trainer. These workouts are challenging! I've been FIRMing off and on for the past few years and these workouts are a bit more intense, but I really like them a lot!:goodvibes

Jamie~ Families are complicated aren't they? I'm trying to accept that fact that people will only change if they want to. There's nothing I can do about it, but pray for them and treat them how I would like to be treated.

Cam~ Thanks for the sparkpeople recommendation! A couple of people have told me about it now... I'll have to check it out!:thumbsup2 I can't believe how many calories are in some of my fave foods.... It's shocking!:eek:

Laurie~ Thanks! I've been reading about portion size and it's amazing how much I have been eating and what is considered a true portion. My version of a portion is certainly larger which means more calories!:lmao:

Hi Tracy
Hope the homeschooling gets sorted soon.
Have a great week :)

Hello there! I couldn't resist popping into your Dis journal.:goodvibes

Hey Tracy! Just wanted to stop by and say hello to a HUGE supporter of mine. :hug: I can't thank you enough for all you've helped me with.

As always, it looks like you're busy, busy, busy. :goodvibes

Good evening friends,

We came home to a very scary sight this evening.... Our neighbor's house on fire!:eek: These people live just 3 houses down from us and their son comes over to play with my kids on occasion. Everyone appears to be okay and they are staying at a home across the street. Not sure how much damage there is to the home... Please pray for Aaron and his family.:grouphug:

Oh my gosh, Tracy. How scary. They are definitely in my prayers.

Thanks Kim.:hug: We're going to try and see how they are doing today.... We're not sure if they are still staying at the neighbor's house or if they have moved in with family somewhere....

Today looks to be a crazy busy day....We have so much to do that I am getting overwhelmed by it all. :( I have my handy dandy list next to me and will mark it off as we go.

The Power 90 thing is going well so far.... I am sore, but not overly sore to the point where I can't move or workout. I'm trying to take it easy and ease into the routine. We hope to go shopping for our food for the next week today.

Today's Plan:

* Workout

* Homeschool

* Laundry

* Mail Local Taxes/ Finish Return

* Library

* Curriculum Fair

* Work for DH

* Grocery Store

* Thrift Stores

* Finish and Mail DD's Portfolio

* Help MIL with her taxes

* Clean the house (The water company is coming to replace our meter on Saturday....)

* Bills

* bank

* e.t.c., e.t.c., e.t.c.:upsidedow

I probably won't make it to journals today.... Hope everyone has a wonderful day!:grouphug:

Oh, my that is a jam packed day! Good luck :) It's great that you're enjoying your workouts--I think that is such a huge part of long term success.

Best wishes too for your neighbors. What a scary thing to have happen so close to home :(

Hi Tracey- just stopping by to see how you are doing- wow, what a busy day it sounds like you have today! I hope you were able to find at least a minute or two for "me time."

Wow, scary about your neighbors- I am so glad everyone was ok.

Today's Plan:

* Workout; Done!

* Homeschool: Done!

* Laundry: Working on it!:laundy: (Always working on it.:rolleyes1 :rotfl: )

Thanks Bekki and Lisa!:hug:

I was able to get most of my to do list done today and I still have some energy left!:thumbsup2

We went to a thrift store today and I got:

* 1 Brand new bicycle helmet for $2.50

* 12 shirts for my DDs (Gap, Disney, Old Navy, e.t.c.)

* 4 pairs of shorts for my DDs (Disney)

* 1 Skirt for DD4 (DD6 won't wear them.) OshKosh

* 5 Polo shirts for my DH (Ralph Lauren, Nautica, Gap, Nike)

........all for under $18!:banana: :yay: :woohoo: All the clothes are in very good to excellent condition and would cost a fortune if we bought them brand new. I am so thankful for places like these where you can get some nice, gently worn clothing for a great price.:goodvibes

My DH has a meeting tonight so the girls and I will start cleaning up a bit. Tomorrow, we will go grocery shopping and clean some more, followed by a visit to my MIL's house. On Saturday, my DH will got to the grand opening of a local gym (lots of freebies and goodies) and we will spend most of our day waiting for the water company to show up and replace our meter. I'll try and get some eBaying done as well.... Extra money for Disney is a good thing!:thumbsup2

Speaking of Disney, my DH and I talked about it and I think we will upgrade our tickets in September to non-expiring so we can use them in December too. We were going to add a day to our trip in September, but then decided not to since we'll be going back in December.

Okay, I'm off to clean.... I will try and get to journals tomorrow morning. Have a great evening everyone and thanks for stopping by!:goodvibes

Hi Tracy, I am so sorry I have been MIA from your journal all week! I am really excited for you and your dh that you are doing this together! That is so great you are planning out meals and really checking out those food labels to see how many calories they have. Good for you guys, you can do it together! Good luck with the homeschooling decision making process, you will make the right choice! I am so sorry about your neighbor's house, do they know how the fire started? That is really scary, I hope everything works out for them very soon.

Keep doing what you are doing, you will do this! You have the support of your dh and the WISH board and that all really helps!
