Toystoryduo’s Journal: Baby Steps are the Key... Celebrate Each Victory!

Thanks Amy! :grouphug:

Today went okay... The doctor only talked to us for about 2 minutes, but I think we are on the same page in terms of my mom's care. She seemed better today too which was a blessing.

Over the past few days, I have added 135 minutes of exercise. Woohoo! :yay: My DD5 did walk the hill with me and did a great job! :thumbsup2

As for Disney.... we are still trying to determine what the length of our stay will be. We also may have people coming with us that we did not think were coming. We would really like to stay the full two weeks, but we need a financial blessing to make that happen. I will take one week though... It's better than nothing! ;)

I'm hoping to get back to eBaying tomorrow..... I have homeschooling and work scheduled and that's it.We'll see what happens...

Hope everyon has a good evening! :teeth:

Look at you go with that exercise! You must be feeling quite proud of yourself and you should be. I hope you get the two full weeks in at WDW. But as you say, one week is worth something too. Heck, one day at WDW is worth it in my book! Good luck with ebaying. And two minutes is about standard for a doctor to talk to the family. My mom's oncologist used to have a physicians assitant (which is an RN with extra training I think). That guy was wonderful and would spend 15-20 minutes explaining things in plain English, answering questions. He's not there anymore and I really miss having that. Its rare I now know. Being on the same page with this doctor is a blessing so that is very good. I am really keeping your whole family in my prayers and your WDW trip too!

I'm glad your mom's Dr and your family are thinking along the same lines. That will help manage her care.

You are exercising like crazy - way to go :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: How wonderful that DD5 did the hill with you too. Keep on going. :cheer2:

Good luck with your WDW discussions. Like you said, 1 week is ok too. You don't want to add financial stress to your vacation. That would take away from the enjoyment. Who knows, maybe the :wizard: will finally find you guys....

Thanks Amy and Anna! :grouphug:

Today started off on good note. :goodvibes I got an 80 minute walk in (up the hill!) and I went on a 40 minute bike ride with my DD5. That's another 120 minutes to add to the total! :Pinkbounc Right now, my exercising is more of a means to help me deal with stress than it is a means to get in shape. Does that make sense?

I've got a couple of things to do and then I will homeschool my DDs and then eBay before I go to work. Then I will come home and relax for the rest of the evening. :goodvibes

Tomorrow, we are going to eBay, homeschool, and then go to the Fire/Police Department's Open House. We went last year and the kis had a great time! Their favorite thing was Sparky the fire dog. :dog:

Please continue your prayers for my mom and dad and if you could, please send some :wizard: our way for eBay and other financial blessings. Thanks and have a great Tuesday! :sunny:

Hello!!!

First of all...my thoughts are with your parents, and I do hope that things work out for you financially..I know how stressful all of that must be.

Great job with the exercise though!!! 120 minutes is AWESOME!! And yes, it's the best way to deal with stress in my opinion. Nothing like working it out of your system, clearing your head and then feeling good about it afterwards!! Good Job!!

Hope you have a great day!!

GO BUCKS!

Wow, Tracey, you are an exercise machine these days! :cool1: It must feel so good to get away from stresses of everyday life even for a short time for a walk or a bike ride. I am really happy that you get to share some of that time with DD, too. That makes it even more enjoyable and she is learning some very good habits about incorporating exercise in her day.

I am glad your DM is doing better and that you feel reassured after talking with her doctor. I know this has been hard on your dad and your entire family, so I'm glad things are looking up.

Your trip to WDW is getting closer all the time -- doesn't that make it so much easier to deal with everything? Just knowing it is there, that Mickey is waiting for you. :teeth:

Sending you a hug, sweetie, and WISHing you a fabulous day!

Wow Tracy, the exercise is going great, well done :)
Doesnt matter why your doing it, as long as your enjoying it & it is helping:)
I hope you get your 2 weeks in wdw & that your mum & dad are both coping well!
Take care
Tracey

I hope the ebaying goes well! I hope your mom and dad are both hanging in there (and you too of course). With your support they'll get through it. That is so incredible about this exercise you are doing! You are getting so much benefit physcially and emotionally from this. It is no doubt helping you get through this tough time. And I'll bet your daughter is enjoying the activity with mom too! Hope you got some down time in front of the tube tonight, you deserve it! :wizard: :grouphug: coming your way!

Thank you everyone! :grouphug:

I managed another 90 minutes of exercise for a grand total of 640 minutes! It really has helped me relieve some of the stress I am experiencing. :goodvibes I had a hard time keeping food down yesterday and I am still feeling not so well today. Work was super hard last night because I wasn't feeling well. At one point, I thought I was coming down with a fever.....

I did manage to get 14 auctions up and listed yesterday... no bids so far. :( Good thing I still have 6+ days left! :teeth: I'm hoping to get some more auctions done this week and then listed on Sunday or Monday.

Today's Plan:

* Grocery Store

* Library

* Homeschool

* eBay?

* Field trip to the Fire/Police Department Open House

That's about it from rainy, thundery, soon to be snowy Ohio.... Hope everyone has a great Wednesday! I will try and get to more journals this evening! :goodvibes

Great job with all of your exercise time and using exercise instead of eating or whatever to deal with all of your stress. You are doing great. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Here's lots of :wizard: that you are feeling better and your parents (and your family) get through all the stuff on your plate right now. Hang in there.

Hi Tracy!!!!

Wow you are kicking butt on the exercising. Good for you!!! Keep it up!!!

Hope you are feeling better today....

Continuing to send p & pd to you and your family. I am glad that ya'll were able to talk to the doctor about your mom.

Keep up the good work, you're doing a great job!

Have a great Thursday :)

Tracy, I am so proud of you doing this much exercise! And I agree with Anna, good for you using activity instead of "whatever" to cope. How are your mom and dad doing? I am really keeping you all in my prayers, I know how stressful this all is. And good luck with your auctions! Hope you are feeling better and didn't come down with some yucky bug. Hang in there Wish Sis you are doing great! :thumbsup2

Thanks WISH buddies! :grouphug:

I thought my mom was making some progress and then yesterday, she called my grandma ranting and raving about stuff again. :( Please keep her and my dad in your prayers.

As for me, well.... I'm not feeling well still. :( I'm not sure if I have a bug or if this is stress related (stress.... what's that? :scared: ;) ), but I do know that keeping food down is not an option right now. I am able to keep Ginger Ale down if I sip it slowly.... Maybe I will try eating some bland food later on today and see what happens.

Today's Plan:

* Homeschool

* Workout (It is freezing cold outside, but I need a walk... I'm going through walking withdrawl! ;) )

* Work (5-9:30 p.m.)

* Relax

* :laundy: (Of course I won't be putting the clothes out on the clothesline. :rotfl: )

* Errands

That's all for today.... Prayers and :wizard: for mom, dad, eBay, finances, e.t.c. would be appreciated. Have a great weekend! :sunny:

Hi Tracy,

I am sorry that you still aren't feeling well.....just take it easy and see what happens. :grouphug:

Still thinking of your family and I hope everything works out. Keep your head up.

Have a great, relaxing weekend

Hi Tracy, Hope your feeling better,
take it easy & give yourself time to recover
(easier said than done i know :) but please try)
Keeping your parents in my thoughts, hope you have a good weekend
Tracey

Oh Tracy - sending you and your family lots of prayers and positive thoughts. I hope you can find time to take care of yourself this weekend. Once you feel better, it's easier to handle the other stress in your life. Take care you!

Thanks friends! :grouphug:

I want to apologize in advance because I probably won't be able to get to journals until tomorrow or Monday... Busy weekend ahead! :faint:

Update on my mom..... She is in a step down unit at the hospital. I'm not really sure how to take this news at this point.... I'm happy that she is in her own room now and away from some of the more intense patients in the facility. On the other hand, I don't see a whole lot of change or progress either and that concerns me. I know that this progress takes time, but some of her comments have me concerned. I really wish that the doctor let us know what was happening and is happening.... We still don't have an exact diagnosis yet. This is getting very frustrating!

In other news..... My DH should be getting his check from New York within the next couple of days. :Pinkbounc Next week will be quite busy for him as he tries to drum up some extra work for the next few weeks before WDW.

My DDs only have three more soccer games left. I asked them if they wanted to play indoor soccer and DD5 said no and DD4 surprisingly said yes. So, we will wait and see what happens over the next week and make our decision then. (By the way...DD5 really wants to play t-ball or softball this year. We missed registration last year because it was in January!) Also, my DD5's birthday is coming up soon so plans will need to be made for her party.

Homeschooling is going well. My DD5 really enjoys the program and DD4 often sits in and participates as well. I like this system (K 12) because it is much more structured than the one we previously used.

I added another 60 minutes to my exercise total yesterday.... I plan on trying to get a 30 minute weight session in before soccer today. I haven't weighed myself lately, but several people have told me that I look like I have lost a lot of weight.... Stress will do that to you I guess. :(

eBay Update..... Right now, I only have one item out of 14 selling! I still have a couple of days before the auctions end, but I need to sell these items. Please send some :wizard: our way for these eBay auctions. I have a lot of other stuff that I planned to eBay this week, but if these items don't sell, I may not list them at all. Maybe my manager at work will want to buy them for the Dollar Store...... :scratchin We have a section of items that are 70% off of retail.... Hmmmm.....

WDW Update..... I'm hoping to get some updates done this weekend. Several family members who we thought were going the first week in December are not. My MIL can't afford to pay for the $1200 house herself so we are going to plan B.... asking other family members. If they can't, then we will re-evaluate our plans and go from there.

Today's Plan:

* Workout

* Soccer (Go Green Gators!)

* Church

* Dinner at MIL's

Tomorrow's Plan:

* Sleep In

* Clean the house

* Work with DH for awhile

* Go to work (3:30-7:30 p.m.)

* Plan for the week ahead

Hope everyone has a great weekend! Sorry for the rambling post... :blush:

Tracy, I hope you had a good weekend and found some family members that can go to WDW and share the house with you. I am so sorry you are going through this with your mom. I pray that you will see an improvement very soon with her. Good news on getting the check from New York! I hope you are feeling better and keeping some solids down. I am betting stress is the culprit! I don't undereat when I stress, but I do get acid problems with my stomach and have to be really careful not to let it get out of hand. It wreaks havoc with our whole bodies! And I see you are at 700 minutes of exercise, how wonderful is that. Keep hanging in there, get on the scale, it sounds like good news awaits you! And lots of prayers going out to your parents and you. :grouphug:
