Toystoryduo’s Journal: Baby Steps are the Key... Celebrate Each Victory!

Thanks Scott and Kim~ :grouphug:

Today was another frustrating day.... Getting payment for the job that my DH completed over a month ago is proving to be a major headache. I went back and read all of the e-mail correspondance between this contractor and my DH and according to him, we should have received payment by September 10th, (payment sent out early that week), by September 19th (was out of town; payment sent to wrong address; going out immediately), and on Monday (administrator out of office, huge backlog of paperwork; will check and see if payment sent, if not... will send immediately and verify through e-mail)...... The most frustrating part is when my DH calls to speak to this person and he gets a very, very rude secretary and the standard answer.... "J is unavailable. Give me your number and I will have him call you." We have put in it at least 10 calls in over the past two weeks and have only heard from him via e-mail..... Please pray that everything would work out with this... This is causing a lot of stress here. :(

In the meantime, the real estate project is almost done! :Pinkbounc We will send the paperwork out tomorrow morning and then (gulp!) wait for the payments to come in......

I probably won't make it to journals for a couple of days..... Please know my thoughts are with you and I WISH you the best! :goodvibes

Hi Tracy,

That is so frustrating about your dh not being paid :furious:! I think maybe you need to call and say you are with such and such a collection agency and that so and so needs payment IMMEDIATELY!! Maybe you got the check today? I hope so! I am thinking about you as always. Hope your "short" visit with Mom went well. Families are a blessing in a sometimes very interesting way aren't they? Hang in there and that is such good news about your dh having Saturday off. I hope you guys get to do something really fun, maybe just layin around the house if nothing else!

Good morning WISH friends,

The real estate side job is finished and on its way to New York! :banana: :cool1: :Pinkbounc :cheer2: Woohoo! My DH and I felt such a sense of relief yesterday.... :cloud9: We went to Olive Garden to celebrate!

Today is a rainy and dreary day in Ohio.... I have so much to get done it's not even funny. I have homeschooling to do, a library trip, a disaster of a house to clean, fall and winter clothes to get out of storage, a stop at the post office to make, and an office to straighten up. I think the only thing I don't have to do today is go to work, but I am still working at home. :faint: I need a vacation! ;)

To all of my WISH buddies out there.... Thank you so much for your encouragement and support! :grouphug: I know that quite a few of us are going through some tough times right now, but the support of our family and friends will help us get through. Thank you all for being here for me! :grouphug:

Have a good Thursday! :sunny:

Congrats on the real estate deal going through!! I bet Olive Garden was yummy! Love their salad & breadsticks :)

And you've only got two monts to go til your vacation...hang in there!

Have a good day!

:grouphug: Congrats on the real estate Tracey!!!!

And I'm so sorry I haven't been journaling as much. I'm just catching up with everyone today :). I have to say that I'm exhausted looking at your schedule of things to do today. Making me tired just thinking about it LOL!

You're doing great!!! Hang in there...i'm always impressed with your positive attitude!!! :goodvibes

Hi, Tracy! I am sorry I haven't been here to visit in a while. I think I am caught up now on all of the huge challenges in your lives. I am so glad DH's real estate project is done,and I really hope you get a check in today's mail. Maybe you should tell them you have a friend who is an attorney who has advised you to look into the rate of interest on overdue contractual payments. ;)

I am sorry I missed your birthday, sweetie! :bday: It sounds like it was wonderful with your family giving you such sweet, thoughtful gifts. :goodvibes: I am also a huge Bon Jovi fan and developed a crush on Jon when I saw him in "Moonlight and Valentino".

Take care of yourself. I know life is stressful but I hope it calms down soon. I hope DD5 is doing better and maybe just going through an emotional growing period. Sending you all hugs and goodvibes. :hug: :goodvibes:

Hi Tracy,
Hope your DH gets his payment that is owed, try threatening with solicitors if he doesnt!!
Hopefully life will get a little less hectic for you now, have a great time together on Saturday :)

Congratulations on the real estate thing being completed :banana: ! I love Olive Garden, what a great and yummy way to celebrate. You really deserved that. I hope you got a lot done today, it sounds like you had a full day! If you didn't get a lot done, one thing about it, it will be there when you can get to it! Thats the nice thing about the chores of life, they always wait around for you! I hope you are feeling better and that you get that darn check very soon (as in today)! And your nice Saturday off is coming up very soon. Thanks for all your support on my journal by the way, you always make me feel like I have a true friend cheering me on! :sunny:

Thanks WISH buddies :grouphug:

Yesterday was not a good day. :( DH and I are both very stressed out right now. There's a lot going on with this payment issue, with extended family, and other stuff....I think part of it is the letdown after a big job is completed. we spent the past few weeks running around and trying to get this job done and now that's it done we're like, "Uh, not what?" Does that make sense?

In regards to the payment, we were told that it was mailed out Tuesday and if that's the truth, it should be here today. Part of the stress in this is that we were told the check was on its way September 8th. My DH scheduled a bill to be paid today on September 9th assuming that the contractor was telling the truth, and the money is still not here yet. :( We tried to cancel the bill payment and tell them that we would mail the check, but they can't cancel the payment. My DH is very, very frustrated about this. He worked very hard to get the job done, missed out on birthday parties, he missed out on sleep and he finished it on time. There is no reason why this contractor could not call him and explain what happened. The contractor set up the terms of this deal; not my DH and now he won't adhere to them. As a sub contractor, my DH has had to fight for payment on several projects and he is getting very tired of it. :furious: I am hoping that when I go to the P.O. Box, the check will be there and we can put this issue to rest....

I worked out yesterday with weights for the first time in awhile, I woke up a bit sore this morning. I was hoping to get a walk/jog in, but it has been raining and raining and raining..... Did I mention that it has been raining? :teeth:

The rain may cancel my DD's field trip to the apple farm today. If that happens, we'll try to find something else to do to make up for the field trip being cancelled.

Did I mention that we have a mouse in the house and it's not Mickey? ;) Just another thing for my DH to deal with later.... sigh...

Today's Plan:

* Homeschool

* Field Trip?

* Clean the house

* Niece's 1st birthday party

That's it.... We have a soccer game tomorrow morning and they're calling for more rain......The last time the team won was in the rain so we'll see what happens.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! I will try and get to journals sometime this weekend. :goodvibes

Good morning WISH buddies,

Praise the Lord! The check came in the mail yesterday. :Pinkbounc We are just so thankful! :cool1: We understand what happened and why it was delayed now. My DH may or may not work with this contractor again. The terms will be different next time that's for sure!

Yesterday was such a mixed bag of emotions.... The field trip was cancelled due to the rain. My DDs were disappointed because this was their first field trip and they were really looking forward to it. So, we took them to Chuck E Cheese and let them run around and play. Then, we went to my niece's 1st birthday party last night and a family member made life very difficult for my DD. She cried about 5 times..... :( It made me pretty upset, but his mother wasn't doing anything about stopping it so I just told my DD to let it go. :grouphug:

On top of that, there has been some major parental issues on my side of the family. My mom is making life difficult for a lot of people and frustration is building. She needs to get some help, but refuses to do it. My dad spent the day here yesterday.... This situation really could use your prayers. Thanks.

Today's Plan:

* Soccer in the rain

* Fix the van

* Church

* Dinner at MIL's (?? She hasn't seen my DH (her son) in weeks and was kind of not nice to him yesterday. :confused3 )

* QT with DDs and DH who doesn't have to deejay tonight!

I can't tell you how much I am looking forward to going to Florida. My DH and I need some time to talk and pray about the future and with all of the family drama going on right now, we just need to get away to do it. He has been talking about moving and so that's one thing that we need to pray about. We need to be in line with God's will for our lives and do what is best for our family......

I hope everyone has a good weekend! :sunny:

I am just catching up - 3 pages behind - Yikes!! I am so very glad that the check finally came! :banana: :banana: :banana:

I am also glad that your family is going to have some time to just be together today. You have been through so much. It is really good you can appreciate how important that family time is. Enjoy yourselves! (I need a peaceful, serene clippie to insert here ...) It will be good for you and DH to calmly and rationally look at all your options. Moving away from family would be hard, but at the same time if it would offer better opportunities for DH and your family, you would all be in a better off.

Maybe DM has something that can be medically corrected or controlled? It would be worth a check up, if you can get her to do it. Good of you to be supportive of DD as he copes with everything too. Hang in there! :grouphug:

Hopefully spending time together will be good for DD's too. Kids really can sense when there is tension and act out accordingly, I think. I'm sorry the apple picking field trip got cancelled. Can it be rescheduled? If the weather keeps being icky, maybe you can plan a fun day at the museum. Lots of museums here have a "free" day once a month.

Hang in there Tracy :grouphug: . Enjoy your family day today and have a wonderful week!

i am SO glad the check came..i was hoping that it would have arrived by now!!!!!!!!
Glad your kids had fun at Chuck E Cheese-that place drives me crazy :)

have a great sunday tracy

:banana: glad the check finally arrived!! :banana:
One less thing to worry about :)
Hope you have some lovely QT with DDs & DH :grouphug:
Hope the family issues are resolved soon :wizard:
Raining here too!
Have a great Sunday :sunny:
Tracey

Tracy, I am so glad that check finally came! That must be a huge relief to you and your husband. I am sorry your dd didn't have a good time at the birthday party. Family time is sometimes not as it should be huh? Too many people with their own agenda I guess. I also hope that if you had dinner at mil's it was a good experience and that she was nice to her son. Given how hard he works she should be only proud of him and treat him well. Again, families are just tough sometimes! I hope you had a relaxing weekend. And I also know that God will lead you in the right direction with this possible move/fresh start. Listen to him and to your own hearts and the right decision will be made. I am so excited for your family and mine to be heading to WDW in just a few months! Don't know about you but I am ready! Here's to a GREAT WEEK! Hang in there and keep that chin up! :sunny:

Hey WISH buddies,

The past couple of days have been tough... My mom has been admitted to the hospital for a battery of tests. She has not been feeling well lately and has had some changes in her personality. Up until today, we really weren't able to talk to a doctor or a nurse because of all the tests and when we did, we didn't get much information. Hopefully, we'll hear more tomorrow.

I've been quite busy trying to juggle phone calls, make updates to family, and trying to find out what is going on with mom. Plus, I have been doing the usual stuff plus working. Whew!

Food has been good. I started walking again today and it was great! I love those early morning walks when I can pray and think what is going on. I get some good ideas when I walk!

Tomorrow's Plan:

* Walk

* Homeschool

* Clean/Get ready to eBay

* Call Mom and doctor

* Maybe go to a movie with the kids

* Work (5-9:30)

I think for October's Exercise Challenge, I'm just going to add up my minutes of exercise and celebrate what I am able to do. With all that is going on right now, that seems like the plan that will fit me best this month. We'll add 45 minutes to that total.

I probably won't be able to get to journals until tomorrow or Wednesday....
That's all for now... I appreciate your prayers for my mom at this time. Have a great week!

Your plan looks great; you've got a lot to deal with so don't worry about sticking to a strict diet/exercise plan.

:grouphug: Prayers are being said for your mom and your family, for guidance about what are the right things to do.

:sunny:

Tracy, keeping you and your mom in my prayers. At least you will now know what the heck is going on. Keep us informed! I love early morning walks too. I'll swear I can just feel God walking with me in the morning. I'll swear in the eveing when I walk its almost like He and I are both too tired to care! I think your idea of adding up what you do and celebrating is a good one. It is so easy to get hung up on a number, discouraged about the minutes we lack and not the minutes we do! You'll probably have a lot to celebrate. Hang in there. Hope you got that movie in, movies are such a great way to escape, relax and recharge.
