Toy Story Midway Mania FP Now Open

It's almost 1pm and the app says 80min wait and FPs distributing for 4:10-5:10pm. Yikes!

Yeah, yikes. This is one of my biggest issues with FP. Can you imagine what PP would be like with FP? :faint:

That is not a ride I would wait 80 minutes for. Makes you wonder what lines would be like if there were no fast passes for any ride.

When I looked the other day it was at 90 minutes. So I would say this is more about crowds and less about FP.
I would agree whole heartedly with this assessment. I've been here in July and August when it's been less crowded than this week.

Every time we get on Indy, I think of going to DL in 1995 and waiting 2+ hours to get on that ride. Now we rarely will get in a line over 25 minutes.

The standby line for RSR would still be 2+ hours, and your only chance of riding it would be to stand in that line or get there right at opening. FP does make the lines a little longer, but remember all those people wanted to ride the ride anyway. They're just choosing to do something else while they wait. If there were no FP at all you would have to wait. The parks are just very busy. I remember riding Star Tours as a kid and waiting in line for about an hour. The parks were not as busy back then, but it was a busy time of year and the ride was newer at the time. Before the refurb it seems that Star Tours rarely had a wait of even half an hour and a FP was not really necessary. In fact even two years ago that was mostly the case. Now the crowds have become extreme over the last two years. I think marketing is doing their job well.

We did that. We waited the 2.5 hours..went on with our day, went back to the hotel room, realized some of us wanted to go again so we went back for another 2.5 hour wait. LOL!!!

I meant to watch the times for this ride before FP was implemented, but didn't get around to it. Thanks for thinking to make note of the pre-FP wait times.

So, how long did it take to get through in the fast pass line?

Average Stand-By wait time before FP for TSMM 40 Minutes
with FP 80 Minutes
I'm not sure that's a fair assessment since we only have half a day's worth of data for FP, and according to those who are there it's a very busy week regardless of FP configurations. I would wait until things mellow out after spring break to really see what affect there is.

I wish they had FP for TSMM when we were there last week. I agree with Nittiac that we just don't have enough data. One day (and during Spring Break) isn't going to determine the true impact to the Standby line. I see this as a win for families with smaller children. Because of DD's ride preferences we didn't really use FP's as much as we could have.

5 minutes, maybe? It was super quick. They are now holding the standby line just before you pick up your glasses and the two lines merge at that point.

We have seen longer waits with FPs this time than in the past. We waited 40 minutes for Soaring with fast passes. We got on about the same time as someone who stood in the stand by line for two hours though. Half the ride went down so that was unusual. But RSR FP lines have taken 20-30 minutes this week too.

That is true, but in the history of Fastpass, the Stand-By line has never been shortened due to FP being implemented.

Thanks for taking time out of your day to update and inform us here. It is greatly appreciated!

Yes, I agree it's likely to lengthen the standby line, I just think it's premature to claim that it has caused it to double.
