Toy Story Mania with a toddler?

DD will be 19 months when we take her for the first time this December. It will be our first time since TSM opened. I am having a hard time understanding how the ride vehicle looks and what we will want to do with DD. I understand each seat has its own lap bar -- should she (or can she even) sit between DH and I? Or is she big enough to have her own seat, or would that be too jerky for her? Is she able to sit in my lap, although I realize I wouldn't be able to play well with her there, or do you think she'll be too big for that? Anyone have experience taking a toddler on the ride? Thanks!

This ride is so much fun! We have not taken a toddler on this ride, but, it is such a mellow ride and she could totally sit in between you and your dh! You sit in a car similar to Buzz Lightyear/Winnie the Pooh, but, there is no crazy spinning like in Buzz, you really move room to room and do a little carnival type of shootout to see who gets the highest score! My dh and I went on it solo during a couple weekend to the World, but, would totally take my kids on it!

My son was 3 (weighs about 30 lbs)when we went on tsm in aug. he and I fit fine but there would not have been anyroom for someone else. so I think you should plan that you ride with the baby and you husband in in the seat behind you. the ride vehicles are one car with seats back to back. there is a lap bar that comes down to secure each person so you could bring it down into childs lap, it think it would be fine.

You won't have any problems. We took our (then) two-year-old and she loved it.

The seat is a bench, so she can sit between you and your DH. Each rider has a bar/safety-belt, but the way they come down and meet it is seamless -- my DD sat right in the middle. Hard to describe, but it was no problem at all.

Oh! I have a pic of my 2yo ds and I in a ride vehicle from a couple of weeks ago. Give me a second.

The ride vehicle does whip you around a bit. When the vehicle would finish in one room and go to the next, I made sure to have my hand on him somehow.

I hope this helps.

Great point. Our little ones just turned 2, but they still need a hand behind them when going from screen to screen or they bump their heads on the back of the seat.

Have fun!

we just got back this morning...we took DS on this on friday hes 18months old and i had him in a baby carrier on my front facing me, he was fine..he could have also sat on my lap...im not sure about ur DS but mine is very active never wants to sit still i could never put him in the seat alone

Keep your hand behind his head, or sit him forward just a little. Little ones bump their heads when the car starts and stops.

The baby will be fine and you will have a great time, nothing to worry. :thumbsup2

Have fun and enjoy. :)
