Toy Story Land - Disappointment

Oh we had an absolute blast with the rides and theme of the whole land!! But it is insanely hot and no shade option besides waiting in lines. With that being said we had done SDD and SS in the morning but it still got way too hot to enjoy the area. We ended up waiting an hour for TSMM voluntarily to cool down before we moved on with our day. After all that we had an early lunch and called it quits at HS, and went to Typhoon Lagoon...that was the best!

I like the look of it and my kids loved seeing the characters. I agree it's not a lot of rides and didn't care for saucers, but kids loved slinky.

While I loved TSL, I can understand your sentiment. Disney is adding on new rides that are similar to others we've already experienced and you were hoping for something completely different and unique. I don't really think TSL was a waste, but I will say Alien Swirling Saucers is basically teacups. I can't give an opinion on SDD bc we didn't get FP's this past trip (10/18) and didn't feel like wasting time waiting on standby, so we didn't ride it. I was expecting a little more, but wasn't exactly disappointed. I think SWGE is going to be AMAZING and will give you what you've been looking for: new and unique. The way I see it, the more they add, the better way to disperse crowds in the parks. I like having options. No complaints here.

My DD15 actually cried when we walked into Toy Story Land for the first time. She was had so much joy. It was priceless.

Visually, TSL looks awesome. Quantity is what is lacking here. I dont agree with the Andy's backyard theme..they could have built an Al's Toy Barn for merch. Also, a few more attractions to make the experience more immersive would have been great. I had really high hopes for TSL but when we visited in February, I left wanting more. We did really enjoy FINALLY getting to ride TSM and getting to meet Jessie & Woody along with SDD and Alien Saucers. I just long for more. VideoCapture_20190221-232858.jpg

Everyone keeps saying Alien Saicers is basically Teacups... we alternate between WDW and Disneyland. It is exactly the same ride as Tow-Mater in Disneyland. SDD was ok as a roller coaster, but most of my family prefer 7DMT. Overall, I liked the theming of the last, but I have to agree with everyone about lack of shade and seating. I’m hoping once SWGE opens there will be a smoother flow through.

We missed the opening of Toy Story Land on our last trip but the 10 year old is a YouTube freak and wants to spend her birthday there and that's all that counts in my world. I am older (58) but with the girls I still enjoy everything and having a 10 year old sit down and discuss the merits of riding SDD in the morning or evening is just fun.

I am so glad you clarified that Saucers was like Tow-Mater! I cannot do teacups (too spinny) but for some reason loved Tow-mater!! We go to WDW in 2 months.
