i just read that Toy Story is closing on March 15 due to construction of the 3rd track!! No word on how long closure is.....

It still shows up as being open during my April trip. If they have to close it at all, I hope the closure is very short-term.

WDWmagic indicates that TSM will be closed on 3/15/2016 for a one day refurbishment.

Toy Story Mania at Disney's Hollywood Studios will be closed for a one day refurbishment on March 15 2016.

Construction is nearing completion on the third track expansion, which is planned to open Summer 2016. The one day closure of the original attraction is part of the expansion project

Relax, it's one day to realign the queue to accommodate the new third track. The world has not come to an end. Maybe take the exclamation points out of the title, they really are way too dramatic for what's actually going on.

It was kind of dramatic for me this morning, since ours got canceled for 3/15. However, I woke up not feeling good, out of town for a wedding in a bad hotel. So, about anything was going to break me this morning:rotfl2:Thank goodness our 3/20 one hasn't been canceled, so I think they really only plan the day. Once the shock wears off the OP may calm down. I finally did.

Our FP for this was cancelled... it was the ONE thing the kids DIDN'T get on when we went Dec '14 and of course the ONE day we are there it is CLOSED....grrrrr Disney!

You can't switch your days around?

Well, when the news first came to me, there was no mention of it being one day....but if it makes you feel better I will take the exclamation marks out for you.

If I had any idea how to do that I would

There's usually a pull down menu at the top of the thread, near the title on the right side, that says "Thread Tools". Under that, you can edit the title. Not saying you should it, just an FYI. I actually felt just like your title when I read the email.

So does this mean no fourth track? I know there's barely a second track but I just want to double check that it's not like Soarin' which is only getting a third theater even though it seems it would be a lot easier to do copy of the existing building right next to it

??? TSMM is getting a third track currently. It always has two tracks.

Well one main track (unload/load) and a switch that alternates the vehicle's path. What I meant by that is it's not exactly Soarin' where they is a separate theater and not a main one. I don't know why I just always thought of that second track as a sort of extension and not a full on "second track" like Mr. Toad. What I guess I'm asking is are they doing a carbon copy with the two tracks (or a track with an extension pad like I think of it) or are they just doing one main track no extras? I never heard anything so that's why I'm asking

One track to make 3 total.

One track to make 3 total.
Aw man I was hoping it would get a fourth too since it seemed at least easier with load/unload than a fourth Soarin' theater. Ok last stupid question that's been bugging me: when Soarin reopens, will it have the new IMAX Laser system? I'm hoping it will but considering how my other hopes have been for these expansions it may seem too high. I don't know why at least to me this one seems like the most realistic, considering how IMAX digitals can't fill the full screen and I think when California just got refurbished it got the lasers but there's no definite answer
