toy shopping at DD

we will be in WDW late oct and DS will be turning 5. Anyway, he will be taking some bday $$ to spend on toys. He is into Cars, Handy Manny, Buzz,Mickey's club house, likes Higgly's etc...what are some of the really neat toys for a boy his age at the toy store. I am sure he will get a few parts for his Mr Potato head, and we might start aquiring some specialty Legos. I want to find something not in the Disney store or Toys r us.
I'll pick the clothing, but I want some neat opportunities for him. I am not too worried about size really, cuz gonna mail home.
any thoughts/advice greatly appreciated.
Last time we were there DS turned 3 and he got Mickey Candyland from grandma and a stuffed Goliath and a stuffed Bullseye (isn't that the horse from Toystory 2) and he was happy.

There are some fun toys at DTD. The potato pieces are great and there is also a build-a-light-saber station at Once Upon a Toy if he is into Star Wars or light sabers. There are also pirate hats that you can "build" by attaching jewels and patches, and a pirate skull that you can fill w/little toys like pirate skeletons, plastic bugs, stickers, tattoos, etc. at World of Disney.

The Lego Store is also awesome - we bought a Christmas Advent set there last Dec and it was a lot of fun -- just enought to play with in the hotel and there were a lot of lego guys in it, including a santa. We consider the outdoor lego play stations lego therapy!

There is also a $10 store at DTD and in some areas of gift shops in the parks...a nice way to help kids keep to their budget.

I am also looking forward to perusing the toy emporiums during our upcoming trip! Your son may consider a Disney watch as well now that he is 5. We are also big fans of the fabulous hats that are only found at Disney.
