I bought DS legos when they had the buy 2 get one free sale. I got a large tub (I think it was 2000 legos, plus a bonus 500 pack) and then 2 9.99 sets, one was free. In the big toy book, they have the 50th anniversary tubs for 14.99. Can I return the big one for that one without messing with the other things I bought or will I have to give up that discount or return them too. Do you think it's worth it to trade them? The 50th anniversary one only has like 1500 legos, as opposed to 2500. The gold ones are pretty cool though.

Also, if I do it at the same time and buy other things, will it qualify for the $75 purchase to get the $10 gift card?

If you look at Toys R Us Receipts all discounts are ususally split between the items involved. So, if you bought 3 items and 1 was free and it was $9.99. Then the receipt (I think) will automatically deduct a certain percentage of that $9.99 from each of the 3 items. It should say on the receipt what the amount would be if you were to return the item. I like that their store does it that way - it is so much easier for returns.

Chech your receipt to see if the discount was divided or if in fact one item was free. Last week I bought the video games(buy two get one) and the least expensive item was free. I took on game that I paid for and brought it back today with a gift receipt, was given the full value on a gift card and purchased a different game that came out yesterday. I don't think you'll have any problem doing what you want to-good luck.

On the receipt, the cheaper item was free. Everythign else rang up at full price.

Then you should have no problem returning and getting a refund on the purchase price-and then yes use your $10 coupon too. Happy shopping!

I don't think you will have a problem. Toys R US is usually pretty accomodating. A couple weeks ago when they had a special on Magnetix Buy 1 for $19.99 and get one free. I bought 1 box for $29.99 and got one free. The following week the Magnetix were on sale for 25% off. I took my receipt back and got a price adjustment on the one I purchased with no problem (got $8 back).
