Hi everybody. We are just home from FW and I have a few questions. I am thinking of buying a Toy Hauler so I can bring a golf cart along. Anyone have any suggestions? I have never stayed in one and am unsure what to look for. I dont think I will use it very often as we have the 5er, but I may offer it for rent if I open my new company. I am not sure if would rent well, but that is the only way I can get a cart to FW.

Tina, I have the Cougar 310 SRX. It's got a garage big enough for a golf cart. If you want the cart to have a back seat you need the fold up footrest. It's a great 5'er as it has luxury and able to haul the cart.

Thanks Stack...I love that trailer. Did you get it in Jax?

Suncoast carries them Tina. I forgot to mention they just released a new model that has 2 slides. The bed now slides out and of course the couch. The newer model I saw has a huge pit couch with tables that stick in the floor for a dinette. Mine is an 08 and it has a dinette/couch in it. The really nice thing about the back room is it's a garage but also a bedroom. DD has had a friend come with us a couple trips and it really makes it nice for them to have their own room.

I would think that a toyhauler setup right might be great for families with kids if you could set up the back section as a kids room easily after you off load the cart. They would have their own space separate from the "old folks" and most even have a door so out of site, out of mind. That way you could include a cart in the rental if desired. Heck they could even pitch a tent in some and "campout" in sleeping bags. The possibilities could be endless.

Like Larry said, some have a back door as well. Mine doesn't but a few do. The only problem I saw with the garage type's is the living part is usually cramped and they're not as nice as mine. Forest River came out with one similar to mine called a Wildcat as well that looks pretty good. I'd check that one out. There was one on Ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/WILDCAT-31THSB-TOY-HAULER_W0QQitemZ200199012203QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item200199012203

I like mine better. This one has a smaller garage. If you decide to look at a Cougar let me know. The salesman I got mine from lives 2 doors down and they gave me over 25% off the list and threw in a slide awning. He's been complaining it's slow so we can beat him down lol.

Our neighbors have a Jayco Recon,,It has a a easy full rear fold down garage ramp door, dual electric queen size beds(optional) that rise to the ceiling, furniture that folds to the wall , that way you have full use of the hauler.Theres also a rear side door. They haul EVERYTHING in theirs. We have a TT ,, we also have a long bed Dodge truck and we haul our golf car in the rear of our truck,,no problem. pirate: Its a Goofy World and we are happy campers!

Tina has a side biz renting hers so she's probably looking for something more comfortable for her guests. My 1st Toy Hauler was a 21' Tailgator and it had the bed that went in the ceiling and 2 couches that folded against the wall. It was great when we did a lot of 4 wheeling and went to the fort but we don't do the 4 wheeling as much anymore.

We have a N'Tense toyhauler. Its fromThor (Dutchmen). We love it. We use to have a Victory Lane, but that was smaller and all open(not much privacy). We traded that in after having it a year for the one we have now. We have a queen bed that comes down in front of the drop door, two sofas, roomie kitchen area, and a queen bed in the front with a curtain. It doesn't have a slide(which would be nice)but its a wide boy so it isn't too cramped. DH is in a wheelchair so it is perfect for us. We didn't have to do any adapting. Its a great trailer, and easy to haul. www.ntense-rv.com

Smiley Central-they have some really cute ones. I had them for a long time, but could never get them to work until BigDaddyRog helped me with his expertise!

I have a 33' toy hauler with the gate on the back. The room is walled off and is 8X10'. We finished off the floor with carpet and had cabinets/dresser installed also. I has a bed that raises to the celing and comes down fully.

Our goal was to have an area where my children could play and hangout when we stop to rest or stay overnight, and use it for thier room when we get to our destination.

If we want to haul anything we just lay a tarp over the carpet and away we go.

Now that it is done I would not trade it for any other 5'er. It can be used many ways.

Stacktester,,,Been looking at the same camper, what do you pull yours with? How does it handle with the exta weight in the cargo area (Golf Cart). Thanks,

I have an 04 crew cab Chevy with a Duramax/Allison drivetrain. It pulls great. I went with the 265/75/16 tires over the 245's. More width and it rides better. As far as with extra weight in the cargo it has no problems. Having the luxury up front and the garage as extra sleeping room is a bonus.

I have the toyhauler in sig. We looked at quite a few 30 foot plus fivers, but ultimately wanted to downsize a bit. Ours does not have a seperate garage, but we LOVE the room and usually don't camp with toys. Golf Cart fits in there fine. I can put two ATV's in...but would rather carry one in back of truck and one in TT.
