toy church?

I've been looking for a toy church, either plastic or wooden, that is appropriate for the 2, 3, & 4 year olds in my Sunday School class. (Translation - relatively sturdy!) If it comes with people, that's even better. Fisher-Price made one when I was little, but I haven't seen any available now.

Any ideas? I'd prefer to have a new one, so e-bay is out.

I haven't seen anything like that in ages. Just a thought if you're the creative type...maybe you could build one out of popsicle sticks with tissue paper or plastic for the stained glass windows. Glue it well to make it sturdy. People would be a more difficult project...maybe some painted plastic eggs, or maybe you could glue a robe around one for a minister?

Or check with the company you get your Sunday School supplies from, or a religious bookstore might have access to something that would fill your need.

My house is swamped with baby catalogues right now, but I don't think I've seen one toy church. You might try going to a large Christian book store. Many of them have toys and games.

I am an avid collector of older Fisher Price toys, and I can't ever remember them making a church playset. I wonder if you are thinking of the Little People one-room schoolhouse they made, with a bell that rings on the roof .... that could easily pass as a church. But you're right - it would be an older toy now, and Ebay would be the only way to get one.

Well, at least I wasn't missing it. Playmobil has an awesome nativity. Maybe they'll add a church some day.

Eeyore, you are exactly correct. I had forgotten it was just a school. We played with the school like it was one in the era of Little House on the Prairie - school during the week and church on Sunday.
