Towns with Golf Cart paths for Overnight Fall Break Trip

Looking for ideas....
Last year over fall break we went to New Harmony IN. New Harmony is a Quaker Village replica with lots of rich history, a labryinth, ponds, trails, shopping, etc. We rented a golf cart (which are street legal in New Harmony) for the day to see all the sights. My children loved it!!! It was become one of their (and mine) favorite trips. We are looking for another small/interesting town to do that again in. Do any of you Dis'ers know of any other small historical type towns that offer such an experience? There is not alot of info on towns with golf cart accessibility (other than Peachtree City, GA doesn't seem like much to do except ride the golf carts...) so I would assume one would have to know of it more on a local level. We are about hours from New Harmony that is why I am aware of it, google-ing such a search turns up nothing. I don't think it is something that is well advertised except on a local level that is why I am turning to you all for some help. We are in Western KY so something within a days drive (5-6 hours max) is what we are looking for. I found some conflicting info on Helen GA which looks like a really neat place to visit, but not sure if they offer sightseeing by golf carts.

we have friends that built a house in Bald Head Island, NC and it's golf carts only on the island I believe.. you leave your cars in the ferry station.

Not practical for you for a quick getaway, but if you ever have the chance to visit Avalon on Catalina Island, DON'T miss it. You and your family would love it there.

It might be a bit far for you, depending on where you live in Kentucky, as it might take 7-8 hours, but Put-In-Bay and Kelley's Island in Lake Erie are both a really nice getaway.

My dd's love to go up there, and both islands use golf-carts as their main form of transportation. Cars are allowed, but not too many people drive them around over there.

We live just an hour and a half from there so we visit at least once a year, and there's quite a bit to do and see.

Put-in-Bay (on south bass island) is a lot more touristy, has a lot more to do, but does get a bit wild with the nightlife (although going in the fall should help because college students will be back in school).
There's a butterfly house, 2 caves (perry's and crystal), Perry's monument (cool to go up to the top and look around, can see Pelee Island (Canada) from there, Stonehenge Estate, etc.

Kelley's Island is a lot more quiet of an island. I believe the whole island is declared a historic district. It's also very nature-oriented, lots of nice trails, and they have glacial grooves which are really cool to see.

Depending on how long you're planning your trip, both islands have ferries running to and from mainland and between each other, so it's very easy to see most of both islands in just a couple days.

This is very interesting to me. My kids loved visiting my very senior Aunt and Uncle in Florida years ago, not only because they are wonderful people but kids still talk about driving around in that golf cart!

Then last weekend an aquaintances 14 yr. old just came from spending a week somewhere in PA (don't know where) with her girlfriends family and she said they only used a golf cart to get around. My kids were very interested in that aspect.

So I'll be watching the thread also.

Helen is a neat town but it is not golf cart friendly, lots of car traffic.

Port Clinton (wher you catch the ferry to Put-in-Bay is 3 1/2 hours from Cincy, if that helps. Fall is better than summer and Kelly's is fine all the time.

Daufuskie Island in SC. You would have to take a ferry from Hilton Head and pay big bucks to stay there though.
