Has anyone stayed here? Wanted to get the Residence Inn but was too much as far as the rewards go on my g/f's parents marriott rewards card so we ened up picking this place. It's cheap and comes with a kitchen which is good for us. The only bad part is that it's near the train tracks! Has anyone else stayed here and if so how was your stay? Their doing a remodel which is over at the end of june we're going in the middle of june.

Their rates are FANTASTIC for what they offer. They have amazing government/military rates too BTW. My brother just stayed there and said the remodel was not a problem for them at all. It's a bit far from Disney (about 5 minutes drive) but totally worth if for the price, space, and hotel class. I've heard the shuttle to Disney is fast and easy, though I've never done it.

that's one good thing about the hotel is the free shuttle. gonna save us $33 in parking fees for the 3 days we spend at disney!

Did you compare / contrast the Townsuites with the Fairfield (regarding the Marriot Rewards points)?

Only reason i mention it, is that we stayed at the Fairfield (which is a no-frills, clean motel) with our Marriot Points and it was ACROSS THE STREET from DLR. No Driving, easy for mid day breaks, it has a pool & McDonalds is right next door. (for quick cheap happy meals :) )

Not a "suite" hotel, it doesn't have a kitchen (but has a dorm room fridge)....but NO DRIVING or parking or waiting on shuttle busses...just an 8-10 minute walk & you are on Main St. :cool1:

Please let us know how the "points" compare....there are alot of us Marriott folks out here.

I know the Anaheim Fairfield is a Category 4 for Marriott points. Years ago it used to be Category 2.... Oh well.

According to the Marriott website the Fairfield Inn is a Category 5 (25,000 points first night) hotel while the Townplace Suites is a Category 3 (15,000 points first night) hotel. FYI, the Residence Inn Maingate is also a Category 5.

I cannot believe that Fairfield is now a catagory 5!! I guess location is everything.

yes it is, before i found the townplace suites we had a courtyard by marriott booked in irvine that was a level 3 then i found the suites which was closer only 2.3 miles from disneyland that came with kitchen and it's only a level 3 so go figure. maybe the remodel brought it down to a 3 as their still doing it until the end of the month.

Wow...me neither. It's an ok motel (just like virtually every other Fairfield I've stayed at), but if not for the location, it would be a "3"....maybe even a 2if it was in say...Bakersfield. ;)

Hey, what's wrong with Bakersfield? ;):confused3 :rotfl2:

I knew it!! I knew it when i typed it.

I was trying to think of a town that wouldn't offend anyone, but at the same time be someplace that no one really WANTS to visit. :rolleyes1

For the record, i like Buck Owens and Merle Haggard & have never spent the night in Bakersfield. Let's move my hypothetical Fairfield to Odessa (TX). :lmao:

I take no offense ;) I love living here, I grew up here- moved to So Cal, and don't miss much of the crazy home prices/traffic/hectic paced life there. Only thing I miss is being closer to DLR!
