Towncar or get a renta?

Trying to decide the best transportation for us. Going to WDW in April '05 for Sun - Sat. 2 Adults and 2 children. Staying at GF. Will be going to discovery cove one day and maybe seaworld one day. Always done towncars in the past but with these side trips I'm thinking maybe we should rent a car. Opinions please. Thanks!

Even if you were staying at WDW the whole time I would suggest a rental car.

We are facing the same dilemma for our Dec. trip in just over two months. Depending on when you plan your side trips, you may be able to save money by renting with either Alamo or National and scheduling your side trips at the front end of back end of your trip. Both of these companies offer 3 pick up locations at WDW - Dolphin, Lake Buena Vista and WDW Car Care Center. I also read that you can ask the hotel to arrange a shuttle service for you on the day you need to go rent the car. In checking the Mousesavers links and suggestions, you may be able to save considerable money by combining various contract, Product Rate and coupon codes to save considerable money. I would try different scenarios using the codes both for your entire stay or just for a few days at the beginning or end or your trip to save on shuttle service/towncar costs to/from the airport. Hope this all makes sense and doesn't confuse you more!
