For those of you have used a towncar service - when returning to airport from a Disney resort, how long before flight time do they pick you up at the resort? Thanks for any help you can give me. I'm trying to make plans for our last day.

Ours have always had pickup 3 hours prior to flight departure.

Car service companies will schedule you for pick up 2 hours ahead of your departure time. It is almost standard for every car service unless the passenger requests to be picked up sooner, like 2 1/2 or 3 hours.

It's recommended that you arrive at the airport 2 hours prior to your scheduled flight, so towncar service at WDW usually does pickup 3 hours before flight.

You are wrong Kirbydog. What I posted above is how it works in Orlando. The ride to the airport is 1/2 hour. Recommended by who? The airlines and the airport don't care when you get there or even care to tell you when you should be at the airport. They let you should figure that out yourself.

I realize it's 1/2 hour. I've read on a number of airline websites that it's a good idea to arrive 2 hours prior to your flight time to allow for going through security in case the lines are long. The last time I was at WDW the service I used said they always pick up 3 hours ahead to allow for traffic, etc. By all means get there whenever you want. I was just giving the OP my experience.

Kirbydog is not wrong. The airlines recommend you arrive 2 houre before your flight. I would rather sit in an airport for an hour and a half than miss a flight. I have been to MCO when it has taken almost one hour fourty five minutes to check in and get thru security.

In Orlando when you ride in a car service vehicle the driver will pick you up 2 hours in advance of the departure time of your flight. That has worked well for the past 15 years and continues to work well to this very date. I have probably taken over 7000 families back to Orlando in the past 16 years, all 2 hours before departure, and none have come back to me saying they missed their flight. If a family wants to get to the airport earlier than all they do is say something to the driver or company when the subject comes up. I have never seen anything in writing about recommendations on how many hours you arrive at the airport before your flight.

I just went to the Delta website and they say, at MCO, you have to check-in with Delta 45 minutes before flight and be at the gate 15 minutes before flight. That total time is 1 hour. At Orlando most car services drop you off at MCO 1 1/2 hours, 50 feet from the Delta ticket counters, before departure. I am sure it doesn't take over 5 minutes to walk to the ticket counters.

my town car service preschedules a 2.5 hour before flight pick up. i have never felt the need to change it.
