Town Cars/Limos vs Magical Express

Have always done ME down and back, but thinking of trying something else. Last summer sat on ME bus for a good 45 mins because the bus wasn't full enough. Anyone with recent experiences or recommendations?

Before DME was created my family used Tiffany TownCar as our transportation to and from the airport. The service is excellent, but it can be a bit pricy.

Last November we used Happy Limo for a trip from WDW to port for a cruise. On the way we got a flat tire near the airport. It took over an hour to get us another car, we sat on the side of the road. The driver told us we would be compensated. We tipped the full amount and never got any compensation at all. I contacted them afterwards and was told "oh well, they got us there, that was all that mattered". I will never use them again.

I used FL Tours last spring and then again a few weeks ago. Both experiences were very good!
Here is an average of time breakdowns using various modes of transportation..

From gate to resort...

DME....could be 65 mins, but also could be 90. Figure on 80 mins.

Car service...with carry on bags only......45 mins.

Car service...checked bags.....60 mins

Mears shuttle...carry on, 85 mins, checked bags, 100 mins.

The biggest problem with DME is the waiting for the bus to be full. We haven't had an issue in the past, but being a party of two we are usually put on a full bus. The multiple stops can be annoying. Return service to MCO is usually a pain since there always seems to be some sort of scene on who should be on what bus. Last year we got bumped to a later bus because another couple had to go on our bus since they had missed their earlier one. The bus we got was a good 45 minutes later. We ended up having to run to the gate after the long line through security to catch our plane. Next time we will hail a cab!
