Town Car - worth it?

Just to be clear, I love DME. We have always flown in from Manchester and land just after 2 pm EST, getting us to the resort by or before 4 pm, which still gives us a pretty usable timeframe for the evening.

This year we got Glasgow flights :yay:! Only downside, we arrive around 6 pm. So if we get DME, we would get to the resort probably not before around 8 pm. Doesn't leave much time to go for our tradtional DTD "We're Finally Here" dinner.

How much time do you think a town car would save us over DME (I know DME waiting depends on how full the bus is when you board and how long it takes to fill up). It will be $60 one way or $109 return. I'm not disregarding budget, but I do accept that sometimes time is worth putting a bit of cash out for if justifiable.

I'd love to hear the views of anyone who has used this service. :)

Slightly different to your scenario, last time I flew into Sanford and paid for a transfer to All Star Sports where we were staying, we flew through all the checks and got our luggage almost immediately, bet it didn't take us half an hour to get through. Got to our transfer and had to wait on the coach for over an hour, before the driver realised whoever we were waiting for was already sat on the coach! Devastated!

It goes without saying that this year I'll be getting a towncar transfer, if you're on the coach you're at the mercy of other people, so if you have plans and want to specifically do something on the first night, I'd definitely recommend getting a car transfer as opposed to a coach transfer.

I am thinking along the same lines. I am only wavering on 2 points:

1. Is an hour (I don't see us saving more time than that over DME) going to make so much of a difference,i.e. the difference between going out as we want to or staying at the resort first night?

2. I do realise there is no guarantee that I won't suffer the annoyance in the possible event the DME rolls up at the resort as we are getting out of our towncar - which we paid for. :rotfl:

my time definitely has a value...

my time and my annoyance and how tired i am after traveling etc etc etc

i think the town car idea is great...

in the scenario you describe, i think i would definitely go with the town car..

I think I am getting sold on the idea. If anyone strongly disagrees, you should post quickly :lmao:

We always book private transfer & we do 30min supermarket sweep all included in the price.
For us its worth it no hassle of stopping at other resorts & ours being the last stop, no waiting at airport for other passengers no being squashed in like sardines although ME not as bad as other shared transfers still much prefer private but not sure time wise how much you save !
