TOWL Update

I was there on Saturday night. Service was completely disappointing. I was ignored at the bar so i asked a manager for help So bottom line: I actually ordered less than I originally intended... Just not staffed properly.

Forgive me because I have obviously missed something but now any DVC member can visit TOWL? Must you be staying on points & show your KTTW card or just your DVC card?

I am so glad they opened this up, just wish they take care of the service issue. We were going to buy in to BLT just for the fact of using the loundge. If they are still open come September we will be going and watching the fire works.

I have watched the fireworks from the park and from the beach at the Wilderness camp ground. We went over to the camp ground to have dinner and stayed to watch the fireworks and electric boat parade.

I can wait to experiance the fireworks from BLT

We went one night and it took forever to get any attention and we were the only table left after the fireworks. Our kids were sleeping in the chairs by the time the cheese plate arrived and getting drinks was a waste of time. It was a 2 hour tour I won't do again. Vending machines would be an improvement.

Wow, it sounds as if this service thing is a real problem. This may be contributing to people not returning to the lounge. You would think they would work hard just for tips sake.

Just read on dvcnews.com that they have extended to special access till Dec 29th.

I'm probably going to be the only person not happy about the extension. We're staying at BLT for a week in November and over my past 2 stays, I've loved going up to the TOTWL for a quiet relax after a day in the parks. It really doesn't seem like the staff can cope at the moment with the increased custom and I don't want to have to feel like I've got to get there really early so that I can get a seat. I don't mind it being open to all on say certain nights but I do think that some nights should just be reserved for BLT guests - ultimately that's what our guide billed it as when we bought at BLT. Having said all that, I was a little worried it might go altogether so I'd rather have the extension than that happen.

seems like your nice, quiet evenings, to have the lounge to yourselves, didn't quite make it for the staff.

you folks want something to be exclusive, you should purchase drinks and tip accordingly.

I am thinking this lounge will (sooner rather than later) , re rented out to private parties, enjoy it while you can.

Awe man! We were just there from the 8/15-23 and I totally forgot to go!! We wanted to see if the fireworks up there are better for DS5 who is noise sensitive. I remembered when we arrived but totally forgot as the week went on. Oh well maybe next year if they open it again.

I agree, it was given as a "perk" to buying at BLT and when we stayed there and visited the lounge we bought drinks and food, so I am not a fan of the extension. That being said though, what good is the lounge if it is closed because no one is visiting or spending any money. So if they have to do this I guess it is better than losing it.

IMO, unless the service and offerings were better, we'll probably never go back. Both me and DH prefer the Poly Beach, even if it's further, because the Fireworks looked so out-of-sync from the TOWL.
